2015 CATERHAM SEVEN 620R

This low-mileage Caterham Seven 620R is in excellent condition and would make the ideal toy for sunny weekends or track days. Powered by a supercharged 2.0-litre petrol engine and fitted with a six-speed sequential gearbox, it’s a wonderfully lightweight and analogue sports car with astonishing performance. The odometer shows 2,104 miles.

As a 620R model, this vehicle boasts a 310bhp Ford engine, as well as a wider track, performance tuning, adjustable dampers and aerodynamic control arms. The transmission is geared to reach 62mph in first, and that sprint takes a mere 2.8 seconds thanks to the featherweight construction.

First registered in September 2015, this car has only one private owner from new who sadly passed away earlier this year, and it is now being sold on to another enthusiast to enjoy. During his ownership, the car was used for various hill climbs and sprints, so its mileage has been accrued solely through competitive use rather than on the road.

The gorgeous Magenta paintwork is generally in very good condition, but there are a few minor marks present. Some light scuffs are noticeable around the front grille and there are marks on the carbon plates over the rear wheel arches. The carbon-fibre aerodynamic blades are also showing some signs of wear. The 13-inch wheels currently fitted to the car are in excellent condition, while there are also spare wheels and tyres as shown in the photo gallery. The car also comes with a rain hood and matching doors, giving it some useful protection against inclement weather.

The stripped back cabin is accented by carbon-fibre and kitted out with super-slim carbon bucket seats. There are a few small marks on the trim in places, but as you would expect given the low mileage, the interior still presents superbly. All of the switchgear and features are original, including the removable Momo steering wheel, and everything is in good working order with no faults or warning lights.

The most recent MOT test was on 24 September 2020 at 2,104 miles, which resulted in a clean pass. The car has only been through three such tests in its lifetime, and none has resulted in a single advisory note. The track-orientated Avon tyres still have enough tread for road use.

The car is understood to have been kept in fine fettle during the first owner’s tenure with it, but unfortunately any service records appear to have been misplaced. However, the car will come with a fresh service from a Caterham dealer before handover to the winning bidder, to provide valuable peace of mind.

This was a factory-built car, and photos of the construction process in Dartford are in the file that accompanies the car. The original invoices for the purchase are also present, along with some old MOT certificates. Its all-weather gear, interchangeable carbon deflector, and six spare wheels and tyres are also included.
