2014 PORSCHE 911 (991) TURBO

This Porsche 911 Turbo is one of the great all-rounders; a supercar with remarkable outright performance yet considerable everyday practicality. It has been driven and enjoyed, and is presented in very good order. The engine is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six, producing 514bhp and up to 524lb-ft of torque, with all-wheel drive via a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 62,754 miles from new.

It was specified from the factory with the desirable Sport Chrono package, as well as the 20-inch Turbo S centre-lock alloy wheels. The car also has the SportDesign exterior mirrors, painted side skirts, and privacy glass for the rear and rear side windows. At the front, it is equipped with bi-xenon headlights in black and the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), and there is also an electric tilt-and-slide sunroof.

Inside, the specification includes heated and 18-way adjustable Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, with the Porsche crest embossed on the headrests. The options also include the Light Design package, cruise control, and the carbon interior package including centre console trim and carbon door sill guards with illumination. Finally, there are front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera. First registered in August 2014, this 991 Turbo has just two private owners from new. It is now offered by the trade.

This car is currently stored at V Management in Berkshire, where it has been given an independent inspection and appraisal. Quotes on condition, which represent the subjective opinion of V Management, are included below for additional insight.

The bodywork remains in very good order, with no evidence of panel damage, and no large scrapes or dents. As you would expect given its regular use, V Management reports that there are “a few minor marks commensurate with age and mileage”. Its inspection noted a minor scuff on the rear spoiler, another on the passenger wing mirror housing, and stone chips at the front and ahead of the nearside rear wheel. Overall though, the paint finish remains smooth and glossy around the car, with a consistent colour and deep shine. The 20-inch Turbo S wheels have just been refurbished, and have been fitted with new Porsche crest centre hubs, so they are in pristine condition.

There are some very minor stone chips in the windscreen, though V Management states that none are significant enough to require repair. Its inspection also found some small cracks at the bottom of the headlights, and minor scuffs to both indicator units.

Inside, the black leather upholstery is in good condition, with only modest wear and marks around the front seat bases and bolsters. The rest of the leather trim is also in great shape, extending over the dashboard, door caps, and around the SportDesign steering wheel. The V Management report notes scuffs on the plastic inner and outer sill guards, some scratches on the driver’s door handle, and scuffs on the fuse box cover in the passenger footwell.

All of the carbon inlays are free of damage and present very well, and the black carpets and Porsche floor mats are in good condition. The inspection report notes some minor marks on the backs of the front seats, and small indentations on the rear seats.

Mechanically, this 991 Turbo is in very good order, having been serviced exclusively by Porsche main dealers with two-year intervals. After putting the car through its paces briefly, V Management found no issues: “The engine fires up immediately, the gears select as they should. The braking system works properly and all electrics and switchgear operate correctly”.

The last scheduled maintenance was carried out by Porsche Centre Bolton in October 2019 at 58,767 miles. This intermediate visit included replacement of the brake fluid as well as the auxiliary drive belt. Prior to this, it was serviced in February 2017 at 39,649 miles, and in June 2015 at 19,852 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 14 January 2020 at 60,874 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with a few advisories. The front and rear brake discs and pads would benefit from replacement, as they are slightly lipped around the edges. A minor oil leak was noted on the offside of the engine, which may be a gasket needing renewal, and there is some corrosion on the exhaust retaining nuts.

Its wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres, which are all in good condition. Measurements taken at V Management record 6mm tread on both rear tyres, with 7mm on the offside front and 7.5mm on the nearside front.

Accompanying the car is the complete book pack, including the stamped maintenance record, however there is only one key. The overall appraisal conclusion from V Management states: “A very well presented car in significantly better all-round condition than the age and mileage would suggest”.

This Porsche 911 Turbo is a superb version of the 991 model, which makes for an exciting daily driver, or a very smart GT car for continent-crossing road trips. There are a few preventative maintenance jobs for the next owner, but otherwise this Porsche is in very good condition, ready for many more miles in all weather and all seasons.
