2014 MERCEDES-BENZ A45 AMG

An immensely capable all-weather ‘pocket rocket’, this 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is a highly specified example finished in Cosmos Black Metallic with a black leather and Dinamica suede interior and red accents. Having covered only 13,785 miles from new, this mighty hot hatch is presented in superb condition.

Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 354bhp and 332lb-ft of torque, which is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the 4Matic four-wheel-drive system, the A45 AMG is – in the words of Evo magazine – “blistering quick everywhere”. This highly optioned car is subtly specified with the Night Pack and rear privacy glass, but without the aerodynamic kit, resulting in something of a Q-car appearance.

First registered on 27 June 2014, this A45 was ordered by Mercedes-Benz Chelsea as a demonstrator, and is unsurprisingly a very well-equipped example. The full specification sheet is visible in the gallery, but notable features include the Harmon Kardon Logic 7 surround-sound system, COMAND infotainment, panoramic roof, AMG Performance steering wheel, AMG Performance alloy wheels, and the AMG Performance exhaust. The car was purchased directly from Mercedes-Benz Chelsea by the current owner, who is the second registered keeper.

The Cosmos Black Metallic paintwork is in good condition with a high shine. The vendor notes that there are a small number of minor dents from general use, and the odd small car park ding – which can be seen in the photo gallery – but overall the body presents well. The optional 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in matt black with polished rims are in superb order, having been recently refurbished.

Moving inside, the cabin is laden with technology and embellished with carbon-fibre trim elements. The black leather seats with Dinamica centres feature red contrast stitching, accented further by red seat belts, and are in excellent condition with minimal wear. The vendor reports no defects to the interior, with the optional panoramic roof and AMG Performance steering wheel adding to the experience.

The car has a full annual Mercedes-Benz service history, summarised below, with the most recent service carried out by Mercedes-Benz Chelsea in July 2020 at 13,546 miles. This major Service B included a transmission oil change, brake fluid change, panoramic sunroof service, and oil filter change. All mechanical operations and electronics, including the brakes, steering, suspension, driveshafts and exhaust were fully inspected and tested. Prior to this, the car received a scheduled minor Service A in September 2019, and another Service B in May 2018.

The most recent MOT test was on 11 May 2020 at 12,624 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with the only advisory being about a small nick in the nearside rear tyre sidewall. The car is wearing Dunlop tyres all round, which are approximately three years old, and which have about 6mm of tread at the front and 5mm at the rear.
