2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER SVX 'SPECTRE' - 470 KM

KEY FACTS

• Far from the average Defender, this left-hand drive 2014 110 Crewcab SVX is one of only seven surviving examples produced by Land Rover and Bowler for the 2015 James Bond film, Spectre. Unlike some other examples used in the filming, this Defender is road-registered in the UK.
• Under the bonnet is a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which has been tuned to produce 185bhp and drives all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
• In total, ten Defender 110s were commissioned in ‘Bigfoot’ specification to serve as transport for Spectre’s henchmen in the film’s dramatic snow chase scene, with each being built in late 2014 in time for filming in 2015.
• Initially registered overseas as part of the film shoot logistics, this Defender SVX was imported to the UK and re-registered in September 2018.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Extensively modified by off-road racing specialist Bowler to ‘Bigfoot’ production specifications, this Defender offers enhanced all-terrain capability over one of Land Rover’s standard vehicles.
• It has been treated to an engine tune, as well as an upgraded turbocharger and intercooler. Furthermore, the vehicle has been fitted with rose-jointed suspension components and rally-specification Bilstein shock absorbers, giving it prodigious off-road agility. It is believed that this Defender may have a restricted ECU applied to the engine to limit its top speed.
• The exterior enhancements include a full exterior roll cage, NAS rear step, LED roof lights, bonnet rope and WARN electric winch, and 16-inch five-spoke ‘Beadlock’ alloy wheels with 37-inch off-road tyres.
• There are also side protection runners with full-length tread plates, black grille and headlight surrounds with upgraded lights and lenses, and chequer plate metal cladding.
• Inside, the second row seats remain standard in half-leather and half-cloth trim, while the front seats were replaced for stunt driving purposes with supportive Recaro items, equipped with four-point TRS safety harnesses.
• Factory equipment includes electric front windows, air conditioning, and an Alpine stereo head unit with Bluetooth. While there are buttons for heated seats, these are not operational given the switch to Recaro seats.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage. It is assumed that this is one of the Defender SVX cars to have been used for lower-speed work, which would account for its impressive condition.
• The Santorini Black paintwork is generally superb, though there are superficial scratches in the finish as shown in the gallery. Furthermore, the paint in the load bay is heavily scratched and scuffed, perhaps from lugging film production equipment around.
• Inside, the backing for the driver’s side Recaro seat is slightly loose on the outer edge, but overall the leather and cloth upholstery for both rows is in great shape, with no major wear or damage.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• The most recent MOT test was on 10 August 2021 at 466 km, which was a clean pass with no advisory items or defects noted.

SUMMARY

Built by Land Rover and customised by Bowler Motorsport, this Defender 110 SVX ‘Bigfoot’ represents an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a genuine ‘James Bond’ film vehicle.
