2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 XS

This 2014 Land Rover Defender 90 XS is a very smart example of a timeless automotive icon, with a great specification and low mileage. It is powered by the 2.2-litre DT224 diesel engine producing 120bhp, with permanent four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer indicates just 26,000 miles from new, which is fully supported by the MOT and service history.

Supplied via Stratstone Land Rover in Milton Keynes, this Defender was first registered in June 2014. It has evidently been well cared-for, with four services documented through Land Rover’s online portal. The current owner acquired the car in December 2016 from independent specialist Ongar Bridge in Essex.

It is finished in handsome Santorini Black paintwork, which remains in superb condition all around the body. The factory paint is paired with a gloss black front grille and headlight surrounds, and there are KBX Hi-Force air intakes fitted on top of the wings. It is also equipped with side protection runners.

The car has never been used off-road during the seller’s ownership, and it is remarkably clean underneath. In October 2017, the car was treated to a professional Waxoyl rust-proofing treatment, with a five-year guarantee until October 2022. It rides on a set of 16-inch ‘Saw Tooth’ alloys finished in gloss black, with a full-size spare of the same design, and all of the wheels are in pristine condition.

In the cabin, this Defender is specified with the desirable ‘Premium’ heated front seats, which are trimmed in the factory Black Leather and Rack Three Cloth upholstery. All four seats show only very light wear from use. The rest of the interior trim, including the headlining, door panels and dashboard moulding, is in great shape with no damage.

Factory-fitted equipment includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, air-conditioning, front and rear heated screens, and an Alpine CD radio stereo head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. There is also a convenient cubby box located between the driver and front passenger, as well as a complete set of rubber floor mats.

Over the last four years, the car has been looked after exclusively by marque specialist Ongar Bridge, and prior to that by Land Rover main dealers. The last scheduled maintenance was carried out in September 2019 at 25,194 miles, which included renewal of the engine oil and oil filter.

Prior to this, it was serviced in July 2017 at 16,387 miles, and in July 2016 at 12,815 miles. The latter comprised of a major service with renewal of the engine oil and oil filter, along with the brake fluid, air filter, and fuel filter. The front and rear differential fluids were also drained and replaced during this visit.

Its most recent MOT test was carried out on 27 June 2019 at 24,794 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories whatsoever. Neither of the two previous tests had any advisories noted either, which evidences its excellent condition. The wheels - including the full-size spare - are fitted with a set of Goodyear Wrangler MT/R all-terrain tyres in size 235/85 R16, which are all undamaged and with a good level of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is the complete and original book pack and wallet, including the owner’s manual and warranty booklet. Two sets of keys and remote fobs are also present, along with the rust-proofing guarantee and records of the service history.

This Land Rover Defender 90 XS is a superb example of a classic British design that finds enthusiasts among every generation. While it is immensely competent as a utility vehicle, it will almost certainly remain a collectable car. This particular Defender boasts a great factory specification, is well-maintained, and is ready to be put into service immediately.
