This 2014 Land Rover Defender 110 XS Utility is a tidy one-owner example of the marque’s rugged and dependable 4x4. Powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged inline-four diesel engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission with high and low-range gearing, this example shows 62,900 miles from new.

First registered in January 2014 and purchased new by the vendor, this 110 XS Utility has been fettled and upgraded throughout its life, with an emphasis on improving the drivability of the vehicle in everyday situations. The comprehensive upgrades include installation of soundproofing, modified suspension to improve comfort, a ‘Stage 2’ remap, and Dinitrol rust prevention treatment.

The Santorini Black paintwork is in good condition overall, though there are a few small patches of bubbling, most noticeably around the front bumper and the windscreen, and other minor imperfections commensurate with the age and mileage. The left rear mudflap is also missing, and there is a small soft dent above the offside headlight which can be seen in the photographs. The ‘Boost’ alloy wheels are in great shape, and the exterior features a KBX front grille and LED headlight upgrade, and complete rear LED and reverse lights.

Inside, the front seats have been upgraded to full leather to improve comfort on long-distance drives, and are in very good condition. The rear seats have some minor marks but no noticeable wear or discolouration. The dashboard and door cards show the usual marks from regular use, and the rear load area carpet has some dirt stains and wear. Its standard stereo has been replaced by a double-DIN unit with Apple CarPlay capability and the steering wheel has been swapped out for a Momo quick-release item. In XS specification, it also features air-conditioning and heated front seats.

The most recent service took place in January 2019 and was performed by CSK Automotive. Prior to this, the vehicle was serviced during January 2018 at 43,884 miles by Hungerford Service Centre and in February 2017 at 30,263 miles by Grand Land Rover.

The vendor has commissioned numerous upgrades and improvements to this 110 XS Utility. A Stage 3 Dinitrol treatment was carried out in 2014, the vehicle has had a ‘Stage 2’ ECU tune, and a Red Booster soft clutch has been fitted to improve urban driving. Comfort lowered suspension items including OME shock absorbers have been fitted, along with an uprated anti-roll bar and Superpro bushing set.

The last MOT test took place on 27 January 2021 at 62,822 miles, which resulted in a pass with advisories on the certificate noting a crankshaft seal leak, some corrosion to the exhaust system, splitting bottom bushes on both front shock absorbers, a split in the auxiliary belt, and that only one reverse LED light is working.

Included with the vehicle are all the usual Land Rover documents and literature, an online printout of the service history, and all MOT documents and servicing that was done outside of official Land Rover dealerships.
