2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 XS DOUBLE CAB

This Land Rover Defender 110 XS Double Cab Pickup is a smart example of a rugged but stylish utility vehicle, finished in a timeless factory colour scheme. It is powered by the 2.2-litre DT224 diesel engine producing 120bhp, with permanent four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 40,919 miles.

First registered on 25 March 2014, this has remained in the care of a single owner from new, put to use as intended on a farming estate in Dorset.

Its bodywork presents in good order, with only a few minor marks that are to be expected from a utility vehicle. When it was first delivered, the Land Rover received a full rustproofing treatment. Since then, it has been continually protected, and the treatment was recently completely re-done with the vehicle up on a ramp, for the next owner’s peace of mind.

The paperwork shows that the offside rear bumper was previously dented and the cross-member behind it was bent, so this was professionally repaired by Yeovil Motor Company in February 2018. The rear tub has also received an internal repaint, and a scratch on the offside front wheel arch has been repaired and refinished. Black chequer plate steel plates have been on the bonnet, front wings, sills and rear lower quarters to provide additional protection, and the rear tub is enclosed with a custom-made removable box cover.

Inside, this Double Cab Pickup was specified in XS trim, which means it has the half-leather seat upholstery, all of which is in excellent overall condition. There is no damage to the seat covers, and only minimal signs of wear commensurate with the relatively low mileage. It is also equipped with a leather-trimmed cubby box between the front seats, air-conditioning and heated seats, and the vendor has added DAB digital radio.

The most recent full service was carried out in January 2019 at 28,933 miles, but the vendor reports that the car received interim inspections and maintenance as needed. In late December 2017, the Defender had a major service at Taunton Land Rover at 23,849 miles, which was invoiced in January 2018. This consisted of new engine oil and oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and brake fluid. The transfer case fluid was also renewed, along with the front and rear differential oils. All of the brake discs and pads were replaced, as well as all hub nuts and flange gaskets. It also received new rear lower shock absorber bushes, and a replacement A-frame ball joint.

The last MOT test was on 13 March 2020 at 39,159 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories. The tyres are all reported to be in excellent, nearly new condition, with 8mm-10mm of tread.
