2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 - VAT QUALIFYING

This 2014 Land Rover Defender 110 Hard Top is a remarkably well-cared for, practical British built 4x4, commissioned from new by the Ministry of Defence and presented with exceptionally low mileage. It is powered by a 2.2-litre inline-four turbo diesel engine producing 120bhp, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 15,829 miles from new.

First registered in November 2014 for use by the MoD, it unsurprisingly appears to have been thoroughly maintained despite its low miles, and shows only modest signs of use. Having recently been decommissioned from MoD service, it is now offered for sale by a member of the motor trade.

The bodywork of this rugged Defender has never sustained any notable damage, with the body panels, roof, and Fuji White paintwork presenting very well and remaining all original. There is minimal wear throughout, commensurate with the very low mileage and light use. It rides on its original white 16-inch steel wheels, which have some minor surface rust.

Inside, the cabin still features its original grey vinyl upholstery, which also remains in excellent condition. The door cards, tough rubber flooring and dashboard trim all appear as they should, and a modern Alpine stereo has been fitted. All of the electrics are reported to work as they should, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard. This particular Hard Top vehicle benefits from rare air-conditioning, electric windows and central locking. In the rear load area, there are some minor scuffs and scratches in the white paintwork from light use, though the rubber load bed protector is in good order.

The last routine maintenance was carried out in October 2020 at 15,757 miles, where the brake fluid and rear wiper blade were changed as part of a wider inspection. Similar routine servicing was carried out in November 2019 at 13,711 miles, October 2018 at 8,108 miles, December 2017 at 7,165 miles, November 2016 at 5,302 miles, and October 2015 at 3,084 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 14 October 2020 at 15,757 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels come wrapped with Michelin tyres, which have ample tread remaining, each measuring 6mm+ of tread depth.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s book pack and manuals, two keys with remote fobs, and the full toolkit.

The vendor has chosen not to undertake the first registration with DVLA so that the new owner will show as the first keeper on the V5C. The buyer will be provided with the MoD 654 re-registration document together with a V55/5 form to register a used vehicle for the first time, and the current MOT certificate for submission to DVLA for private registration.

This is a VAT-qualifying car, which means the VAT was originally reclaimed by the buyer when new. This means that a VAT-registered individual or company buying this vehicle, for business use or for export outside of the EU, can reclaim the VAT from the purchase price.
