2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 DOUBLE CAB

This Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab is an extremely versatile 4x4, which is ready to continue in service as a durable utility vehicle, or could be used as the basis for a customisation project. Under the bonnet is the 120bhp 2.2-litre inline-four engine, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission that drives all four wheels. The odometer shows 86,342 miles.

First registered on 14 April 2014, there is one previous keeper on the V5C. For at least the first three years of its life, it appears to have been in use within Cumbria, and was perhaps used within a farming setting.

Today, its bodywork is in generally sound condition, though there are some obvious dents in the right rear quarter section around the tail lights, and lesser marks and scuffs elsewhere, commensurate with a hardworking early life in a rural environment. There is some superficial rust visible on various fixtures and fittings, and the door hinges are showing the common bubbling.

The Aintree Green paintwork is believed to be entirely original, and is in fair condition, with small marks and surface scratches; many of which could likely be cleaned and polished out. Beyond the factory specification, this Defender has been fitted with colour-coded wheel arches, an Ifor Williams rear canopy, and 16-inch diamond-cut ‘Sawtooth’ alloy wheels. A work light is also mounted on the roof, which can be positioned from inside the cabin.

Inside, the original black cloth and vinyl seat cover on the driver’s side is in good condition, though the front passenger seat has a couple of small tears. There are also some marks on the door panels, and the vinyl coverings over the box structures below the seats are quite heavily worn - as is the covering on the central cubby box. The headlining presents well, and the rear bench seat appears to have seen relatively little use. There is standard ventilation and heating, manual winding windows, and a JVC aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The most recent MOT test was on 9 November 2020 at 86,303 miles, when it achieved a clean pass with no defects or advisories. In fact, this Defender has always passed at the first attempt, with no warnings about its condition. While there is no service history on file since February 2017, it is assumed to have been kept well maintained, given the clean MOT test results. The wheels are all fitted with General Grabber TR tyres, which appear to be in good condition.

This Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab is a timeless British icon that has been used as intended. While it could simply be used as-is for utility purposes, this Defender could also be a great value base on which to build up a custom 4x4 - perhaps with new interior trim and rejuvenated paintwork.
