2014 FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA - ATELIER SPECIFICATION

This Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a stunning example of a remarkable contemporary supercar, boasting a totally unique ‘Atelier’ specification and very low mileage. Under the bonnet is the 6.3-litre naturally aspirated F140 FC V12, producing 730bhp, driving the rear wheels via the seven-speed dual-clutch F1 transaxle. The odometer shows just 8,430 miles from new.

An original UK market car, supplied to its first owner in December 2014, there are three previous registered keepers on the log book, and the seller acquired car in late 2019. The car has the balance of the seven-year service plan until December 2021, and is under a Ferrari New Power Warranty until May 2021.

This F12 Berlinetta left the factory with an astonishing specification, and a new list price of over £314,000. Finished in the historical Ferrari colour of Rosso Dino, the bodywork has also been embellished with a GTO-style painted racing stripe in Grigio Silverstone. This colour was also applied to the front splitter, air intakes, sport sill covers, fog light and the rear diffuser.

The wing mirrors were specified with the black inserts, while the car was also fitted with the ‘Scuderia Ferrari’ wing shields, privacy rear windows, front and rear parking cameras, and the AFS headlight system. It rides on the optional 20-inch dark painted lightweight forged Y-spoke alloys, which save around 15kg in unsprung weight versus the standard Speedline rims, and which house Grigio Silverstone painted brake calipers.

Today, the bodywork presents in superb condition, with flush shut lines and no evidence of any damage whatsoever. Its Rosso Dino paint is in great shape, with only small stone chips around the front area, and around the lower trailing edge of the doors. The dark grey painted forged alloys are virtually unmarked, with only one tiny chip, and all of the light lenses and body trims are in very good order.

In the cabin, the overriding theme is dark grey with orange accents, with charcoal leather used for the seat bolsters, door caps, transmission tunnel cover, dashboard top panel, parcel shelf, and the steering wheel grips. Grey Alcantara in a slightly lighter hue was used for the lower dashboard and door panels, the seat centre panels, floor carpets, headlining, the rear wall, and the boot trim and carpeting. There are orange accents in the doors, bespoke Hermes orange leather centre stripes on the seats, orange Hermes binding on the floor mats, and orange stitching throughout - including for the embroidered ‘Cavallino’ on the headrests.

There is no wear on the charcoal leather or Alcantara trim, and only the slightest evidence of use on the seats. Carbon-fibre is also fitted liberally through the interior, from the lightweight carbon-fibre racing seats, through to the dashboard inlays, rear bench trim, central bridge, and the carbon-fibre Driver Zone steering wheel trim and shift paddles with LED change-up lights. The car is also equipped with a Giallo rev counter, cruise control, passenger display screen, and even a carbon-fibre cup holder.

Mechanically, this F12 Berlinetta remains in superb condition, having been looked after exclusively by main dealer Graypaul since delivery. Its last scheduled maintenance was in November 2019 at 7,370 miles, when it had an engine oil and filter service, and replacement air filter cartridges. In January 2020, Graypaul also removed the vacuum pipes to the exhaust back boxes to enable the valves to stay open.

Prior to this, its most recent services were in October 2018 at 7,045 miles, when the brake fluid and auxiliary belts were also renewed; and in October 2017 at 7,002 miles. A full summary of servicing is included below.

The last MOT test was on 2 December 2019 at 7,371 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. Given the age and low mileage, it is perhaps unsurprising that this car has a flawless MOT history. The tyres are date-coded to 2015 and 2016, and have approximately 3mm-5mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car are all of the original books, the tool kit, and a Ferrari car cover and trickle charger. More importantly, the car remains under an extended New Power Warranty until May 2021, and remains under the original Ferrari maintenance plan until December 2021 – covering two further services.

Summing up the car’s remarkable breadth of talent, the Autocar verdict on this Ferrari stated: “In an F12, you will never yearn for more power, nor for a faster, better gearshift: its dual-clutch unit is first class in its speed and smoothness,” adding, “it’s only ever visibility and the law that limit the speed with which you can cross country, such are the F12’s levels of ability”.

All examples of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta are likely to turn heads, but perhaps this particular car more than most. Its stunning heritage factory colour sets it apart among the more common black or grey hues, while the rest of the substantial specification means it must surely be among the most highly bespoke F12s built. A thrilling supercar presented with a comprehensive main dealer service history, a striking appearance, and low mileage, this would make an unrepeatable addition to any Ferrari collection.
