2014 FERRARI 458 SPECIALE

This Ferrari 458 Speciale is a remarkable mid-engined supercar, rewarding on the road and astonishing on track, presented with excellent maintenance history. Under the engine lid is the incredible 597bhp 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8, driving the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘F1’ automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 10,410 miles from new.

The Speciale is notable in the marque’s recent history - along with the Aperta model - as the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari, so it represents the ultimate evolution of a bloodline that can be traced back to the early 1970s.

First registered on 2 May 2014, there are two previous keepers on the log book, and the most recent private owner acquired the car in January 2018. It is now offered for sale by the trade.

The bodywork presents in superb order, with no evidence of any previous damage, and no dents or scrapes. Its Nero paintwork is also described as being in excellent condition, with the front section and wings having been resprayed by a Ferrari-approved body shop to rectify cosmetic blemishes only. The twin racing stripes are factory-applied accents - not to be confused with aftermarket additions.

Its rear diffuser, wing mirrors and struts, sill kicks and wheel centre caps are all finished in carbon-fibre, as are the Scuderia Ferrari wing shields and vent slats next to the headlights. It also has carbon-fibre engine covers. The car rides on 20-inch lightweight five-arm double-spoke alloys finished in satin black, which are all in very good condition.

The pared-back cabin features carbon-fibre racing seats, as well as a carbon-fibre transmission console, Driver Zone and shift paddles. The seats are trimmed in black Alcantara and red ‘3D’ fabric, while the Alcantara also extends across the dashboard, door tops and rear wall - all of which is accented by red stitching, including for the embroidered ‘Cavallino’ emblems on the headrests. Factory fitted equipment includes dual-zone climate control, and front and rear parking sensors.

Its last scheduled maintenance was in August 2020 at 10,405 miles, with an annual service carried out by Meridien Modena. A full summary of the service history is included below.

The last MOT test was on 18 August 2020 at 10,409 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever - as per the three annual MOT test before this as well. The wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The front items are date-coded to mid-2015, while the rear tyres are date-coded to mid-2019. All tyres have at least half of their tread remaining.

It is accompanied by all of the original books, including the stamped maintenance record, and the original tools, tyre inflator and car cover are also present.
