2014 FERRARI 458 SPECIALE

This Ferrari 458 Speciale is a thrilling contemporary supercar, which is equally impressive on the road or track, and which benefits from comprehensive annual main dealer servicing from new. Under the engine lid is a 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 597bhp, coupled to the ‘F1’ seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The Speciale is notable in the marque’s recent history - along with the Aperta model - as the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari.

This car shows impeccable provenance being only a two owner car supplied and serviced by the same franchised dealer. This car was first registered in September 2014, and was kept for one year before its owner traded it in for a Speciale Aperta. The current keeper has owned the car for five years, and has kept it in a dry garage whenever not in use. The vendor confirms it has never been on a track during his ownership, and the odometer shows just 5,680 miles.

This Ferrari’s bodywork and paint are in excellent condition, with no damage to any of the panels. The vendor believes that – as with many used Ferraris on dealer forecourts – the front bumper may have been resprayed prior to him purchasing it to remove stone chips, but it has not required any remedial attention during his ownership. The wings are embellished with factory-fitted Scuderia Ferrari shields, and there are twin Grigio Corsa painted racing stripes.

Today, the finish remains smooth and glossy, and a credit to the vendor’s careful use and storage. It has paint protection film (PPF) applied to the front end, and has had a ceramic coating applied to the whole body. The car rides on the original five-spoke double-arm alloy wheels, finished in satin grey, housing the powerful carbon-ceramic brake discs and Grigio Silverstone brake callipers.

Inside, the carbon-fibre racing seats are upholstered in Nero Alcantara with Tessuto Rosso fabric centre panels and red stitching - including for the embroidered ‘Cavallino’ motifs on the headrests. There are carbon-fibre sill covers in the door shuts, and carbon-fibre door panels, all of which are in great shape. The lightweight composite is also used for the transmission controls housing, the dashboard trim and the air vent surrounds, as well as the Driver Zone with LED shift lights and carbon-fibre paddles. All of the trim is in superb condition, and there are no electrical faults or warning lights.

This 458 Speciale has full annual main dealer service history from new, carried out exclusively by Lancaster Ferrari in Colchester. The last scheduled maintenance was in September 2020 at 5,654 miles, which consisted of a sixth-year service to Ferrari’s scheduled requirements. It has always been taken to and from its annual services on Lancaster’s transporter.

The most recent MOT test was on 10 September 2020 at 5,654 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories. The wheels are shod in the original Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, which are still in good condition with tread above the legal limit.

Accompanying the car are all of the original handbooks, as well as the stamped maintenance record and all the invoices to support the stamps and the original specification sheet. Its original tools, tyre inflator and car cover are also present.

This Ferrari 458 Speciale is an outstanding supercar, which is sensational on the road and truly remarkable on track. With just two owners from new, a perennially popular colour scheme, and comprehensive maintenance history, it would be hard to find a better example. It is the ultimate evolution of the naturally aspirated V8 bloodline that can be traced back to the early 1970s, and will appeal to collectors and keen drivers alike.
