2014 AUDI R8 V10 PLUS - 6SPD MANUAL

This 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus is a rare and thrilling supercar, boasting remarkable performance with a highly-desirable specification. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine and is coupled to the sought-after six-speed manual transmission. It has covered 39,932 miles from new, and is presented in superb condition.

Presented to the media in 2012, the R8 V10 Plus was a coupe-only flagship model, with power ramped up to 542bhp, and featuring unique suspension tuning, carbon-ceramic brakes, bucket seats and carbon-fibre aerodynamic addenda.

At launch, Autocar magazine concluded that “the full-blooded speed and sharper focus of the V10 plus certainly add up to something very special indeed”. The verdict from CAR magazine was even more succinct: “There’s nothing better this side of a Ferrari 458”.

There are believed to be fewer than 10 examples of the R8 V10 Plus with the manual transmission registered in the UK. This particular car also benefits from being a completely original example, unmodified and finished in its factory colour.

An original UK right-hand drive example, it was first registered in March 2014. There are just two previous keepers on the V5 logbook, and the vendor has owned it for the last 18 months. He has enjoyed around 4,000 miles behind the wheel of this engaging, analogue supercar.

The exterior paintwork is in great condition, with a smooth and glossy finish all around the car. The vendor notes only a few small blemishes on the body, which are shown in the media gallery, as well as a tiny chip in the windscreen. Its carbon-fibre side blades, rear diffuser and front splitter still have a deep shine and are in superb order. The car sits on the original 19-inch ‘Y’ design alloy wheels that have a titanium finish and are immaculate.

Inside, the black Nappa leather upholstery presents very well, showing signs of use consistent with the mileage, but no unsightly wear. All of the carbon-fibre interior trim is in great shape, as are the original carpets throughout. Upon taking delivery of the car, the current owner had noted that the gear knob was scratched from the previous keeper’s rings, so he has had it replaced with a brand-new OEM item from Audi.

The cabin equipment on the V10 Plus includes the Bang and Olufsen sound system, climate control, heated seats and full infotainment unit with in-built satellite navigation.

In preparing the car for sale, the vendor had it fully checked over by Audi supercar specialist RE Performance in Swindon in August 2019. Minor items were picked up on and attended to, such as fixing and adjusting the engine lid latch assembly, and fitting new wiper blades.

Before this, its last scheduled maintenance was at Camberley Audi in March 2019, with a service that also included renewal of the brake fluid. During a health check, it was noted that the front and rear brake pads were almost as-new, with only around 5% wear. Inspection Services were carried out in April 2018, at Stockport Audi which included a full oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, and in May 2016 at West London Audi.

Its last MOT test was in March 2019 at 37,428 miles. One advisory noted a minor oil leak, which was traced back to a faulty pipe and replaced by Camberley Audi immediately. There was also a note about minor cuts in the front tyres. The vendor can see no evidence of any damage, but is happy to supply a fresh pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S front tyres within the winning bid amount, to match the new set on the rear.

The car is accompanied by the original books and both sets of keys, the service history from Audi, and copies of Evo magazine featuring another manual car run by Dickie Meaden for the publication’s ‘Fast Fleet’.

This Audi R8 V10 Plus is a terrific supercar, which offers both a riveting analogue driving experience with its rare six-speed manual transmission, as well as superb reliability. It boasts a handsome factory specification, unmolested original condition, and is ready for the next owner to drive and enjoy immediately.
