2013 MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG ROADSTER

This Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is a fantastic example of the rare luxury supercar, which is presented in a timeless colour scheme and with low mileage from new. Beneath the car’s long bonnet is the riotous, naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V8, which produces 563bhp and is coupled to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. As a result, this stylish German roadster can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds, and dash on to an electronically-limited top speed of 197mph.

The open-top variant of the retro-modern SLS AMG Coupe, the Roadster was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, and shares its hard-top brother’s imposing V8. Manufactured in 2013, this South Africa-market SLS was first registered with the DVLA in July 2016, and is now offered for sale by the trade. The odometer displays just 18,287 miles from new.

The car’s elegant, swooping bodywork is in excellent condition, with no signs of damage to any of the panels and even shut lines. The Obsidian Black paintwork is believed to be all original, with the exception of the front bumper that has been repainted in the past to rectify stone chips. There are now some more recent stone chips on the bumper, but the finish is otherwise in great shape, with a smooth and glossy appearance around the car.

Able to retract in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph, the three-layer black fabric convertible hood presents very well, with no rips, tears or fading, and fits snugly over its frame. This SLS Roadster rides on the correct set of 19-inch 10-spoke forged alloy wheels with diamond-cut faces, which are in very good order.

In the cabin, the car’s luxurious Anthracite black Nappa leather upholstery presents beautifully, and is accented by contrasting white stitching. There is some creasing to the seats’ leather coverings, but overall the cabin presents very well indeed.

Both seats are heated and electrically adjustable, and feature Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Airscarf’ ventilation system, which channels warm air onto the occupants’ necks for added comfort during open-top drives. Ahead of the driver is an AMG Performance steering wheel, which is in good shape, with some slight wear to the Alcantara hand grips.

Factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, satellite navigation and dual-zone climate control. The seller states that all of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault, and that there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

The car’s most recent routine maintenance was a full service, which was carried out at 17,600 miles, and included replacement of the spark plugs. During the vendor’s time with the car, its brake fluid has also been changed and the satellite navigation system has been updated.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 13 November 2019 at 17,519 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass, and the seller will have the car tested again prior to delivery to its next owner. All four of this Mercedes-Benz’s tyres are described as being in good condition, with 5mm-6mm of tread remaining.

This Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is a rare open-top performance car, which straddles the line between luxurious GT and electrifying supercar. Powered by the snarling 6.3-litre V8, it boasts thrilling outright performance, while its cabin is as finely appointed as any premium Mercedes-Benz. Presented in very good order and benefitting from a recent service, it is ready for many more miles with another enthusiast owner.
