2013 LOTUS EXIGE S

This Lotus Exige S is a superb lightweight driver’s car with incredible performance and an outstanding chassis, which is presented in very good condition. Under the engine lid is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. With a kerb weight of just 1176kg, the Exige S can sprint from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Built in August 2013, the identity plate on the car confirms that it left the factory finished in the Starlight Black hue. It is now offered for sale by a dealer in Sydney.

The bodywork of this Exige S remains in good condition, though the vendor notes that the front clam was previously replaced with an OEM item. Its metallic black paintwork presents very well, with only minor blemishes that are commensurate with the age and mileage of the car. The exterior remains true to the original factory specification, though the exhaust system has been upgraded. It rides on lightweight alloy wheels, in a 17-inch fitment at the front and 18-inch at the rear, which have some minor kerbing damage around the rims.

Inside, this Lotus features the optional black leather trim, extending across the seat upholstery, door panels, dashboard air vent covers, and the steering wheel; as well as the transmission tunnel, door sill covers, and the gaiters for the handbrake and gear shifter. The leather seat covers have some slight creasing in line with the mileage, but no damage or discolouration, while the fabric on the bolster centre sections has some visible wear - particularly on the driver’s side. The steering wheel is accented by a red leather 12’o’clock marker, and the fitted equipment includes a fire extinguisher, air-conditioning, and an Alpine stereo head unit. At the rear, the carpeting around the rear lid catch panel has come loose, but simply requires re-sticking.

The last maintenance was in October 2020 at 63,754 km, carried out by Simply Sports Cars. This was a standard service, which included renewal of the brake fluid. The vendor states that the car is fitted with an induction kit and an uprated exhaust system to boost the power output, but otherwise the car remains mechanically original. The latest safety inspection in 2020 revealed no faults or warnings. Its wheels are fitted with a matching set of Hankook Ventus RS4 tyres.

This Lotus Exige S is a well-presented example of a critically acclaimed lightweight sports car that boasts supercar-baiting performance. With its plusher interior specification, this particular Exige S could be a great road trip companion, as well as an exciting toy to enjoy on weekends or perhaps even for track days.
