This 2012 Porsche Panamera GTS is a superb example of Stuttgart’s high-performance super saloon. Under the bonnet is a naturally-aspirated 4.8-litre V8 producing 424bhp and 383lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed PDK automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer reads 31,993 miles.
An original right-hand drive car, this high-specification Panamera GTS was initially retained by Porsche headquarters in Stuttgart, and is understood to have been used as a show car. The factory-fitted options total ran to just over £21,000. It was not imported to the UK until September 2015, when the odometer stood at 1,675 miles. It has been with the current owner for nearly five-and-a-half years. During his ownership, the car has been stored in a heated garage when not in use.
Finished in vibrant Carmine Red, the Panamera has an even finish to all body panels. The paintwork is believed to be original throughout, with the only real blemishes of note being minor stone chips and scratches visible on the front bumper. This example retains the correct badging and has been specified with the ‘Panamera GTS’ door script, which remains in excellent condition.
Other model-specific touches include the black headlight rings and window trims, which present well. The electrically operated rear spoiler remains in full working order. The handsome 15-spoke alloys seen in the photo gallery are unique to the GTS and remain in great shape, with a small mark on only one of the wheels. In March 2018, the windscreen was replaced at Porsche Centre Reading.
The Panamera’s cabin is a compelling blend of convenience features and sporting design. Finished in black leather with Alcantara inserts, all four seats remain in very good condition – with the only signs of use apparent in the form of creases on the driver’s seat bolsters. As a well-optioned model, this Panamera features Porsche-embossed armrests front and rear, GTS-embossed headrests, quad-zone climate control, front and rear heated seats, as well as the Sport Chrono package.
Other highlights include the PCM system and upgraded Burmester speakers, with the vendor reporting that everything is in full working order. An unusual touch is the inclusion of the Porsche-branded phone in the centre armrest, highlighting the extensive optional extras on this example.
The most recent service was carried out by Porsche Centre Reading in January 2021 at 31,971 miles. The same OPC carried out a service in March 2018 at 23,205 miles, and the car was also serviced in June 2015 at 2,673 km by Porsche Zentrum Berlin.
During the vendor’s ownership, a number of recall campaigns have been carried out by the main dealer, including for the air-conditioning blower and the bushing on the gear selector lever cable. The suspension bushes on the rear trailing arms have been replaced with upgraded polybushes, and a laser wheel alignment was carried out following this work.
The most recent MOT test was on 12 January 2021 at 31,975 miles. This was a first-time pass with one advisory regarding some condensation in the headlights, and with the tester also noting the presence of factory-fitted engine covers and undertrays. The wheels are shod in matching Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, which remain in excellent condition with 6.5-7mm of tread remaining.
Bidders may note that in the online MOT history, the November 2018 re-test is incorrectly recorded in kilometres, and a false-positive mileage discrepancy may therefore show up in an online check. The correct mileage on 29 November 2018 was 25,962 miles. Porsche Reading has told the owner that they are happy to liaise with the DVLA to rectify this if required.
This Porsche Panamera GTS is a well-specified and well-maintained super saloon, capable of transporting four occupants and their luggage in comfort – ideal for weekends away as well as cross-continental road trips. With stupendous performance, an appealing specification and excellent provenance, it would make a great addition to any collection.
