This Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS is a superb example of the 997.2 swansong, with low mileage and a great factory specification. It is powered by the 408bhp 3.8-litre flat-six engine, driving all four wheels through the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 42,253 km (26,254 miles) from new.

As the ‘run out’ special edition model, the GTS features a range of usually optional extras as standard. It was built using the wide body normally reserved for the all-wheel-drive and RS models, and also featured the SportDesign front bumper and side skirts from the GT2 RS. The engine was upgraded with a power kit to 408bhp, the suspension was revised, and 19-inch centre-lock RS Spyder wheels were fitted.

First registered in March 2012, this 997.2 GTS is understood to have two previous keepers. The current owner acquired the car around two years ago.

The bodywork and paint is reported to be in excellent condition, with only some typical stone chips on the front bumper, as well as a small scratch. In general, the white paint finish is in great shape, and provides a great contrast to the black body elements such as the wheels, window surrounds, and door decals. It is equipped with rear parking sensors as well as the Porsche sports exhaust. The 19-inch RS Spyder wheels are all in good order, accented by red brake callipers.

Turning to the interior, the desirable sport seats are trimmed in the original combination of black leather and Alcantara, which presents in superb condition. The seats also have body-coloured shells, while the transmission tunnel is also finished in white to further enhance the cabin. Factory fitted equipment includes climate control, heated front seats, a sunroof, PCM with satellite navigation, and the Bose sound system.

Its last scheduled maintenance was a service at 37,255km, carried out by Porsche Classic Center Leusden. This included an engine oil change, replacement of the V-belt, a new air filter, gearbox oil, and brake fluid.

Prior to this, it was seen and serviced at 21,387km by Porsche Centrum Paderborn, and at 7,960km by Porsche Centrum Dortmund. The most recent roadworthiness inspection was carried out on 16 March 2020, with no warnings or alerts about the car’s condition.

Accompanying the car are all of the original books, including the stamped warranty and maintenance record, as well as several service invoices.

This Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4 GTS is a staggeringly capable contemporary performance car, which combines genuine gains in pace and poise with numerous desirable extras. With the PDK transmission, this is a relatively practical coupe that you could use as a daily driver if you so desired, though of course the mileage and condition is likely to appeal to marque collectors as well.

As this car is offered for sale from continental Europe, it has not been run through Collecting Cars’ standard online HPI check process.
