2012 PORSCHE 911 (991) CARRERA - MANUAL

This Porsche 991 Carrera is a well-presented and involving contemporary sports car, which boasts a driver-focused specification and comprehensive main dealer service history. It is powered by the 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six producing 345bhp, coupled to the rare seven-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 48,100 miles from new.

First registered on 28 June 2012, there are four previous registered keepers on the log book, and the current owner acquired the car in September 2019. Finished in the subtle but smart combination of silver with a black leather interior, it is equipped with heated seats, a multi-function steering wheel, rear parking sensors, and the PCM media system with satellite navigation. The seller states that the car remains under an extended warranty until 26 September 2020.

The seller states that the bodywork is in superb condition, with factory shut lines and panel gaps. Its silver paint finish is also in excellent order, with only a few minor stone chips at the front noted, and some small marks around the rear wheel arches. It rides on 20-inch ‘Carrera Classic’ alloy wheels, which are free of kerbing marks, and which retain their original Porsche crest centre caps.

Inside, the car’s front comfort seats feature full electric adjustment and three-stage heating, and all of the black leather trim remains in great shape. There are signs of use on the driver’s seat, but no unsightly wear or discolouration. The rear seats appear to have been barely used, if at all. As is typical with 911s, the door sill kick plates have some small scuffs from entry and exit, but the black carpets are in good order, and are protected by Porsche floor mats. There are no warning lights on the dashboard, and no faults with any of the switchgear or electrics.

This 911 has been looked after exclusively by main dealers, with the most recent maintenance being a major service carried out in August 2020 at 47,885 miles by Porsche Centre East London. Prior to this, it also had services in July 2018 at 38,190 miles, June 2016 at 22,613 miles, and in May 2014 at 10,772 miles.

The auxiliary belt was last replaced during the 2018 service, and the seller states that he has recently had the ignition coils and heat shields renewed. The car remains mechanically original, with the exception of an X-pipe added to the exhaust system, to enhance the aural character of the flat-six. Its Porsche Long Life Guarantee condition report in August 2020 showed no items of concern.

The most recent MOT test was on 5 September 2020 at 48,005 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass without any advisories or warnings. The online MOT history record looks impressive, with only one minor fail, which was for worn windscreen wipers in 2017.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres in size 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear. The front items are date-coded to 2016 and have around 4mm of tread, while the rear tyres are date-coded to 2018 and still have approximately 6mm of tread.

Accompanying the car is the leather wallet housing the original books, including the stamped guarantee and maintenance record. All of the factory-supplied tools are present, as well as the tyre foam, warning triangle, and locking wheel nut key.

This Porsche 991 Carrera is arguably a brilliant ‘purist’ specification 911. With a naturally aspirated flat-six, a manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and no other electrical gimmickry, it eschews the obsession with in-car gadgets and instead encourages its owner to just get out and drive. An exciting and agile sports car, it is presented in excellent condition throughout, with a full main dealer history, and even remains under an extended warranty until 26 September 2020.
