2012 MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG

This Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is a remarkably capable super saloon, combining prodigious power and a riotous character with impressive refinement and practicality. It is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine developing 451bhp and 442lb-ft of torque, coupled with AMG’s seven-speed SpeedShift MCT automatic transmission. The odometer shows 30,605 miles from new.

First registered on 24 October 2012, WF62 PRZ has two previous keepers on the log book. It has been owned by the vendor since March 2017.

This black-on-black C63 looks suitably aggressive, with the glossy finish accentuating the muscular bodywork. Perhaps unsurprisingly for a car residing in the capital, the vendor notes that the bodywork has previously had a scrape on the nearside rear door, some damage to the rear bumper – which was repaired earlier this year – and a new number plate holder at the front after it was damaged by another car that was parking. There has therefore been some remedial paintwork to those areas, as well as on the bonnet to rectify stone chips.

Today, it presents very well, with only three barely noticeable dings on the driver’s door, two on a rear passenger door, and minor marks above a wheel arch. The vendor also reports some scuffing on the underside of the body, which is shown in the photo gallery. The 18-inch AMG alloy wheels are in great condition, with no kerbing damage, housing gloss red brake callipers.

The interior is trimmed in black leather, which is reported to be in excellent condition, showing only minor wear commensurate with the low mileage. A combination of gloss black and aluminium inlays accent the cabin, which is all in good order. The car is equipped with electrically adjustable seats for the front occupants, which are heated and have memory settings, as well as an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and front and rear parking sensors. There are no faults and no warning lights reported by the vendor.

Its last maintenance was at Mercedes-Benz specialist Wayne Gates in July 2020 at 29,580 miles. This was a minor ‘Service A’ with new engine oil and filter. The two previous services visits were in January 2019 at 25,411 miles for a Service B – including renewal of the engine oil, gearbox oil, filters, and the spark plugs – and in February 2017 at 15,611 miles for a Service A.

The most recent MOT was undertaken on 21 July 2020, with an initial failure for the rear bumper damage that was rectified on the same day, and a subsequent re-test with no advisories. Four new Pirelli P Zero tyres were fitted in July 2020 and have covered approximately 1,000 miles, so remain in excellent condition.

It is supplied with its Mercedes-Benz owner’s wallet, books, user guides, and the service record. Paperwork for the last two services at specialist Wayne Gates is present, and the vendor understands that service history prior to this is held digitally by Mercedes-Benz.

This Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is a fine example of one of the most characterful high-performance saloon cars of recent years, finished to a desirable factory specification. It has evidently been well-maintained, and the vendor reports it has never missed a beat during his ownership. This exciting four-door saloon could be put into service as a thrilling daily driver, or could simply be kept garaged and ready for the occasional weekend road trip.
