2012 LOTUS EVORA

This 2012 Lotus Evora is an excellent example of the stylish 2+2 sports car, with low mileage and a stylish factory specification. Powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine, it produces 276bhp at 6,400rpm, and can hit 60mph from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds – thanks in part to its six-speed semi-automatic paddle shift transmission. Finished in Arctic Silver with a black interior, this example has covered just 31,044 miles from new.

First announced in 2008, the Evora was Lotus’ first all-new vehicle platform since the introduction of the Elise in 1995. The result was a refined and comfortable sports car with sublime handling and remarkable levels of grip. First registered in May 2012, this Evora has two previous keepers from new, and is now being offered by the trade.

The bodywork is all in superb order, with no signs of any damage to the panels. Its Arctic Silver paint is also in great shape, with only a few stone chips on the nose, commensurate with the car’s age and road use. It rides on gloss black 10-spoke alloys, with 18-inch items on the front axle and 19-inch wheels on the rear, which are all in excellent condition.

Inside, the black leather and cloth interior presents very well, with only minor wear to the outer bolster of the driver’s side Recaro seat, as well as on the leather-covered sill trim – a common wear area given its location. Matching black stitching features throughout, while elements such as the steering wheel frame and centre console have a contrasting brushed-aluminium finish, which is unmarked.

Factory-fitted equipment includes air-conditioning, heated exterior mirrors, and an infotainment system with iPod connectivity, plus heated seats, cruise control, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera – setting the Evora apart as a genuinely comfortable touring car, in contrast to some of the marque’s more pared-back models.

Mechanically, the car is in excellent order. Its last scheduled maintenance was carried out in September 2019 at 30,516 miles by JCT600 in Ilkley, with work including replacement of the engine oil and oil filter, replacement of the cabin filter and brake fluid, and sanitisation of the air-conditioning system. The two services prior to this were carried out in October 2018 at 23,830 miles and in September 2017 at 21,400 miles.

Its last MOT test took place on 20 September 2019 at 30,521 miles, which it passed first time, with only one advisory for slight play in the nearside front anti-roll bar linkage ball joint. The front wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero 225/40 ZR18 tyres that are date-coded to 2016, while the rears are shod in 255/35 ZR19 Maxxis tyres dated to 2018. All four tyres are described as being in excellent condition, with at least 5mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is its original book pack, complete with owner’s manual and the stamped service record. The factory-supplied towing eye and wheel nut keys are also present.

During its first year of production in 2009, the Evora received the dual honours of being crowned ‘Britain’s Best Driver’s Car’ by Autocar magazine and ‘Car of the Year’ by Evo magazine.

Continuing the marque’s tradition of producing sharp, focused and wonderfully controllable sports cars, this Lotus Evora has been well cared-for from new, and is presented in excellent condition today. This is a great opportunity to acquire a refined sports car that is just as well suited to longer road trips as it is to circuit driving.
