2012 FISKER KARMA ECOSPORT

This 2012 Fisker Karma EcoSport is a superb one-owner example of the luxurious four-door petrol-electric hybrid saloon. The rear-wheel-drive Karma is always driven by its pair of 161hp electric motors, but when the battery is depleted, a turbocharged 260hp 2.0-litre Ecotec inline-four powers a generator to supply electricity to the motors instead. The odometer currently indicates just 24,208 km from new.

First registered in June 2012, this Karma has just one private owner from new. It was specified from the factory in the handsome combination of Earth Diamond Dust paintwork with an interior in Black Sand, and with the latter combining both leather and suede cloth finishes. Its factory features included heated front and rear seats, front and rear parking sensors, and a solar-panelled roof to help power the cabin climate control system.

The Fisker’s unique bodywork is all in excellent shape, while its Earth Diamond Dust paintwork is described as being in good condition, though the vendor has reported a couple of minor blemishes, such as some small age-related stone chips around the front end and a small scratch on the bottom of the front bumper. The vehicle rides on a set of 22-inch five-arm split-spoke wheels, which have a few kerb scratches, and could be easily refurbished.

Inside, the Black Sand Monotone upholstery is in excellent condition, presenting with just some light marks on the leather and suede cloth seats. The door card and dashboard trim is in good order, and the touch-screen infotainment screen is accented by a smart wood frame element. Its bespoke centre console is free of any notable scuffs, and all of the electrics are believed to work as they should, with no warning lights on the car’s digital display.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in May 2020 at 22,950 km, where technicians at Fisker main dealer Autohaus Hessengarage in Frankfurt changed the engine oil and filters, before renewing some of the battery cells and replacing the exhaust muffler and rear shock absorber assembly. Prior to this, the maintenance record shows the car was serviced in April 2019 at 16,324 km, while the vendor reports it was also serviced at the 10,000 km mark. The two-year-old Goodyear tyres are reported to be in good condition, having covered less than 7,000 km.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s manuals and service book, along with marketing material and price lists from the period of launch. The full complement of charging cables and connectors are also present, as shown in the photo gallery.

This Fisker Karma EcoSport is an intriguing modern hybrid performance car, which boasts low mileage and just one owner from new. While it has been used and enjoyed as intended, it has also been kept in good mechanical order, and benefits from a recent major service that included replacement of some of the battery cells. A rare sight on the road, this Fisker Karma would make an eye-catching addition to any collection, and is ready for many more miles with its next owner.
