2012 BMW (E92) M3 FROZEN SILVER EDITION

This BMW (E92) M3 Frozen Silver Edition is a rare, limited-edition performance car, presented in smart order and with supplied with excellent service history. Under the bonnet is the acclaimed 4.0-litre naturally aspirated S65 V8, which produces 414bhp at a heady 8,300rpm. This drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer displays 55,705 miles from new.

First registered in August 2012, this original right-hand drive M3 is one of only 100 Frozen Silver Edition cars offered for sale across Europe. As well as its unique paintwork and exterior details including the matte black lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels, this special edition also features the BMW Competition Pack as standard, which lowers the suspension by 10mm, and includes revised stability control software, plus a bespoke Sport setting for the suspension dampers. It was acquired by the seller approximately 18 months ago, with the previous owner being his father.

The car’s bodywork presents very well, and the signature Frozen Silver paintwork is described by the seller as being in good overall condition, with just a handful of minor blemishes including fine scratches on the bonnet, a small scratch above the exhaust tips and some slight stone chips on the car’s side flanks.

As standard, the Frozen Silver Edition M3 features dark exhaust tips, side vent strakes and kidney grille surrounds, as well as black bonnet vents. This example has been customised with carbon-fibre front corner splitters, and a carbon rear spoiler, which adds a racier touch and matches the lightweight roof and interior trim elements.

The car rides on a set of 19-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels, which are finished in an edition-specific matt black hue and present very well, with no significant blemishes or scratches to note.

Upholstered in black Novillo leather with contrasting stitching and Palladium grey leather accents, the car’s interior is unique to the Frozen Silver Edition, and remains in great shape. All four seats are in good order, and while there are some minor creases on the driver’s bolsters, this is commensurate with the car’s age and mileage.

The steering wheel is trimmed in Alcantara with stitching in the signature M colours and an M3 badge with chequered flags on its lower spoke. Glossy carbon-fibre is inlaid into the dashboard and around the automatic transmission lever, and is in good condition.

Factory-fitted equipment includes climate control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and the BMW media system. The seller reports that there are no faults with any of the interior buttons, switches or electrical items, and that there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This M3 has a comprehensive BMW service history from new, with its most recent routine maintenance being carried out in August 2020 at 55,215 miles, when BMW Sandal Wakefield changed the engine oil and replaced the spark plugs, micro filter and air cleaner element. Prior to this, the car’s brake fluid was changed in August 2019 at 53,226 miles, and another oil service was performed in June 2018.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 25 November 2020 at 55,552 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with only one advisory for items hanging in the driver’s view. All four alloy wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, which the vendor states tyres are in good condition and are approximately one year old, with around 6.5mm of tread remaining.

The car will be accompanied by its original handbooks contained within the correct M-branded folder, plus documentation of its full service history.

Famed for its high-revving naturally aspirated V8, the E92-generation BMW M3 is a sought-after modern classic, and the limited-production Frozen Silver Edition car is made all the more appealing by its unique finish and standard-fit Competition Pack.
