2012 BMW (E92) M3 FROZEN SILVER EDITION - 23,400 MILES

This BMW M3 Frozen Silver Edition is a low-mileage limited-run example of a thrilling high-performance coupe, with a superb factory specification. Its engine is the 414bhp 4.0-litre naturally aspirated S65 V8, coupled to the seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission. The odometer shows just 23,400 miles from new.

First registered in September 2012, this is one of just 100 M3 'Frozen Silver Edition' cars, which came with the 10mm lowered sport suspension setup, lightweight 19-inch forged wheels, revised stability control system, and various black and dark chrome features. There are just two previous registered keepers on the log book, and the current owner acquired the car around one year ago.

The bodywork is in excellent condition, with no dents or damage, and flush shut lines all around the car. Its special Frozen Silver paint finish is in superb order, with the seller noting just one small scratch (approximately 3mm) on the bonnet. The lightweight carbon-fibre roof is in very good order, with no cracks or lacquer blemishes. It is also fitted with the original dark chrome exhaust tips, side vent strakes, and kidney grill surrounds, and Jet Black bonnet vents. The car rides on the correct matt black 19-inch forged alloy wheels, which are in great condition, with the seller noting just one 5mm scratch on the rear offside rim near the balance weights.

In the cabin, the black Novillo leather upholstery features contrast stitching and Palladium leather seat stripes and armrests - unique to the Frozen Silver Edition. There is extensive use of high-gloss carbon-fibre trim throughout the cabin, while the steering wheel is trimmed in Alcantara with tri-colour M stitching. All of the interior trim is in absolutely superb condition, commensurate with the low mileage.

Factory-fitted equipment includes climate control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and the BMW media system. Like the other ‘Edition’ models, the car features the chequered flag motif on the steering wheel as well as the door sill kick plates.

The car has an excellent BMW maintenance history, with the most recent full service taking place in March 2020 at Williams BMW in Manchester at 23,403 miles. Prior to this it was serviced by Stratstone BMW in September 2019 and Lancaster BMW in September 2018.

The most recent MOT test was on 30 March 2020 at 23,446 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. The wheels are fitted with Michelin tyres all round, which are in great condition with 6mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is the complete book pack in the original wallet, including the owner’s manual and the stamped maintenance record. There is also a small history file of paperwork, plus luggage nets and the original first aid kit in the boot.

The E92 M3 with the DCT gearbox is a great all-rounder, as CAR magazine reported at the launch of the Edition model: “Equipped with our car’s double-clutch semi-auto transmission, the M3 is even more versatile, acting as both a smooth auto, and a fast-firing manual that puts the clunky sequential manual M5 to shame”.

As the only V8-engined M3, the E92 is a bona fide modern classic, and its high-revving motor makes it a joy to drive. Equally well suited to being a fun weekend car as it is to being an exciting daily driver, this is a wonderful example presented in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition.
