2012 AUDI TTS

This 2012 Audi TTS is a cherished example of the model that has been meticulously maintained by the current owner in particular, and is presented in superb condition. It is powered by the 2.0-litre turbocharged TFSI engine producing 268bhp, with Quattro all-wheel drive via the S tronic dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. It is finished in Black Pearl Effect paintwork with a Soul Black interior, this car has covered 55,926 miles from new.

Easily distinguishable from lesser models by the body-coloured front spoiler lip, aluminium-look door mirror caps, larger 18-inch alloys and quad-exit exhaust pipes, the TTS also features aluminium-effect finishes and grey-faced instruments in the cabin.

First registered in May 2012, this TTS has had two previous registered keepers prior to its present custodian. The car was purchased by the current owner in July 2018 from Tamworth Audi, at which point an extended manufacturer warranty was added, which is still active until July 2020. The car has covered around 14,000 miles on the road since then.

The Phantom Black Pearl Effect paint is in good condition, with the seller reporting only some minor stone chips to the front bumper, bonnet, and one wing, as well as a very light scratch to the nearside rear quarter panel. The seller also notes some slight tarnishing to the exhaust pipes. The silver 18-inch alloy wheels are in excellent condition, having been fully refurbished in March 2020.

Moving inside, the full leather Soul Black interior with white contrast stitching is in excellent condition, with the only light wear to the driver’s floor mat and the driver’s seat side bolsters. As one would expect with a contemporary Audi, the interior is well-appointed with satellite navigation, multi-function steering wheel, heated seats, climate control, cruise control, and a CD changer. The practical rear hatchback allows easy access to the spacious boot, where the lining is in great shape.

Mechanically, the car has been diligently cared-for, with bills totalling approximately £2,000 in the last six months alone. The car was last serviced in January 2020 by Milton Keynes Audi at 55,052 miles, which comprised a major service with new engine oil and filter, pollen filter and spark plugs. The cam belt, water pump, auxiliary belt, and fuel pump cam follower were also replaced slightly later in January at 55,222 miles, with the work carried out by VW and Audi specialist VRS in Northampton. More recently, the rear brake pads and offside rear caliper were renewed in March 2020, and the Haldex oil was changed in April.

In December 2019, the steering column and suspension top mounts were replaced under warranty, and the high-level brake light was renewed a few months earlier. In May 2019, the car received a brake fluid service and two new front tyres. The two previous main services were in November 2018 at 43,991 miles at Milton Keynes Audi, and in April 2018 at 40,297 at Birmingham Audi. The latter also included a full service of the gearbox and Haldex systems.

The most recent MOT test was on 13 March 2020 at 55,904 miles, which resulted in a pass with only one advisory about some wear to the front brake pads – so these will need to be replaced in due course. The alloys are shod in Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres all round, which have around 7mm of tread at the front and 5mm at the rear.

Accompanying the car is the complete and original book pack, as well as a raft of paperwork pertaining to previous service and maintenance work. There are also all of the original tools, including the jack, wheel brace, air compressor, and locking wheel nut.

When the Mk2 TTS was launched, it was lauded by experienced motoring journalists as a proper sports car within the range. The likes of Gavin Green at CAR magazine said it was “by some margin, the best driving TT yet”. Audi’s adaptive magnetic damping system was fitted as standard, with a 10mm drop in ride height over the standard car, and it was capable of 0-60mph in around 5.0 seconds with the S tronic gearbox.

A fine example of Audi’s much loved sports coupe in a great specification, this example has been subject to lots of recent work to ensure that it presents in superb mechanical condition. With the balance of the extended warranty until July 2020 for additional peace of mind, this Audi TTS needs nothing for the next owner to jump in and enjoy immediately.
