NO RESERVE: 2012 AUDI R8 4.2 V8 LE MANS EDITION - MANUAL

This Audi R8 Le Mans Limited Edition is an exhilarating supercar, built to commemorate Audi’s 10th win at the legendary 24-hour endurance race, fitted with a raft of options as standard. It is powered by a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated producing up to 424bhp, driven through the Quattro four-wheel-drive system via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 36,682 miles from new.

First registered in May 2012, this R8 has four previous registered keepers on the log book, and has been in the vendor’s collection for nearly 18 months. It is one of just 100 examples built of the UK-market Le Mans Limited Edition.

This commemorative model packaged a range of desirable options as standard, including Audi’s Magnetic Ride damping system, 19-inch Titanium finish GT alloy wheels, and red brake callipers. Inside, it was given Exclusive Nappa leather with red accents, heated seats, the interior carbon package, and illuminated door sills. The Audi Music Interface was also included, along with the Bang & Olufsen premium sound system and DVD-based satellite navigation.

The bodywork of this highly collectable R8 presents in excellent condition, with no evidence of any prior damage. The car is finished in sleek Daytona Grey, which the driver notes has only some stone chips to the lower section of the front bumper and bonnet. The light lenses are in good order and the car’s badging all appears as it should. It rides on the original 19-inch alloy wheels, which remain in superb order.

Moving inside, the black and red Nappa leather is in great shape, with only minor wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster. The red leather ‘arc’ around the instrument binnacle gives this R8 an even more driver-focused aesthetic than normal. There is also a small mark near the handbrake, and some superficial scratches on the metal gear knob. Cabin equipment includes climate control, cruise control, and Audi Navigation Plus. There are no electrical faults or warning lights present.

The last service was undertaken in September 2020 at 36,218 miles, where technicians at Cheltenham Audi replaced the R8’s engine oil and filter. Prior to this, in May 2019 at 31,817 miles, Leeford Motor Company in Leeds gave the car an oil service, and also carried out similar maintenance in March 2018 at 22,077 miles when the air filter was also renewed.

The most recent MOT test was on 26 June 2020 at 35,476 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The vehicle rides on Continental SportContact tyres all round, in size 235/35/R19 at the front and 295/90/R19 at the rear. The vendor notes that the nearside front tyre has a nick in the sidewall, shown in the photo gallery, but they otherwise remain in good order.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original R8 owner’s manuals and service book, along with two keys. The original toolkit, tyre inflator and first aid kit are also still present in the front boot.

This 2012 Audi R8 Le Mans Limited Edition is an engaging and collectable supercar, marking one of just 100 cars built. Packed with equipment and featuring bespoke upholstery, this R8 would be a great addition to any collection, and is a superb example of one of the most involving yet reliable high-performance cars.
