This Audi A1 Quattro is an incredibly rare limited-edition hot hatch, which is presented in superb condition throughout. Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, producing 252bhp and 258lb-ft of torque, with all-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 38,022 miles.

Putting a powerful engine in such a small car delivers a 0-62mph time of just 5.7 seconds, and a top speed of 152mph - putting it not only ahead of the hot hatches in its class, but toe-to-toe with the performance cars in the class above it as well.

Audi only built 333 examples of the A1 Quattro, and this particular car is rarer still for being one of the original 19 cars supplied new to the UK. It was first registered in October 2012, and there are three previous keepers on the log book. The car is now offered for sale by the trade.

Its bodywork and paint are described as being in excellent condition, with no known prior damage, and only minor stone chips present. There is typically robust Audi build quality throughout, with the body trims and light lenses also in very good order. It rides on the original 18-inch alloy wheels, which have been recently refurbished and are in great shape.

In the cabin, the black leather upholstery is in superb order, accented by red stitching. There are signs of light use on the seats, but no heavy wear or discolouration. An indentation on the rear central armrest has occurred where it has rested on the cup holder insert below. The heated bucket seats present very well, and the factory-fitted equipment also includes push-button start, climate control, the Bose surround-sound system, and satellite navigation.

The last scheduled maintenance was carried out in 2019 at 31,940 miles by Columbia Motors in Blackburn. This consisted of an engine oil change service, new spark plugs, dust and pollen filter element, and a replacement air filter. Prior to this, it was also serviced in November 2017, when the Haldex oil was also renewed, and in December 2016, when the brake fluid was last replaced.

The most recent MOT test was on 16 January 2020 at 36,993 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories. It has never failed an MOT test, nor had a single advisory note. The wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres at the front, date-coded to 2019, and Pirelli P Zero items on the rear, which were changed in 2020.

Accompanying the car is the original owner’s wallet, housing the user guides and the stamped service record. The tools and air compressor are still stored under the boot floor.

This Audi A1 Quattro is a wonderful example of a highly exclusive hot hatch. As one of the original 19 UK cars from the total production of 333 units, this is undeniably a collectable modern classic, and would make a fine addition to any collection. It is offered with excellent maintenance history, and is ready to enjoy on the road.
