2011 PORSCHE 911 (997.2) TURBO S

This Porsche 911 Turbo S is a well-specified example of one of the rarer 997.2 variants. Under the rear decklid is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six producing 523bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, delivered to all four wheels via a seven-speed PDK gearbox with paddle shift. The odometer reads 40,061 miles.

This UK-market example was first registered in October 2011, and has four previous keepers on the log book. It is now offered for sale by the trade. The Turbo S was only available with the aforementioned PDK gearbox and carbon ceramic brakes as standard. It produced 30hp more than a regular Turbo thanks to revised intake valve timing, higher turbo pressure and a bespoke carbon-fibre air box.

Finished in Carrara White, this 911’s bodywork and paint are described as being in excellent condition. The front end is remarkably free of stone chips, with the vendor noting only the presence of a chip on the sunroof. The finish is smooth and even throughout, with the glass, badging and front and rear light lenses also free of damage. The Porsche retains its optional centre-lock alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition with no kerbing damage.

Inside, the Porsche’s cabin is exuberantly finished in extended red leather. This remains in very good condition, with no discolouration or significant wear on any of the four seats. The red carpet has kept its deep hue, while contact points such as the steering wheel, PDK gearstick shift paddles are also in excellent condition. The cabin features the Turbo S-embossed armrest, cruise control, heated front seats, PCM with satellite navigation, carbon door sill covers, and the Bose sound system.

This high-performance coupe’s most recent maintenance was at 39,991 miles in January 2020 at Porsche Centre Preston. This was a full service, which also included replacement of the spark plugs. Prior to this, the drive belt was replaced at 34,304 miles during the service in January 2018, and a full service was also carried out in December 2015 at 30,852 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 15 October 2019, which the 911 passed at the first time of asking with an advisory only for the condition of the front tyres. The vendor states that a fresh MOT will be supplied with the car prior to sale. The car currently rides on a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport items, with the front set replaced last year and currently showing approximately 7mm of tread. The rears show approximately 6mm of tread.

This Porsche 997.2 Turbo S is a superb opportunity to acquire a well-maintained example of the breed, in a rare colour scheme, and boasting remarkable outright performance. Given its low mileage, it will no doubt appeal to some collectors, but this 911 is a supremely capable all-rounder that also deserves to be driven and enjoyed on the road, whether for the daily commute or a thrilling continent-crossing road trip.
