2011 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 4 5.0L V8

This 2011 Land Rover Discovery 4 is a low-mileage example of the spacious and capable 4x4, boasting a rare factory specification. Under the bonnet is the 385bhp 5.0-litre AJ133 V8 engine, which was never offered in the UK market, coupled to the six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The odometer shows just 41,956 miles.

First registered on 23 February 2011, this particular Land Rover Discovery 4’s specification was unique to certain overseas markets, making it a lesser-seen or possibly never-seen vehicle for enthusiasts in the UK. It was officially imported in late 2020 and currently resides in Northern Ireland.

Finished in Fuji White, the external condition of this Discovery 4 is superb, with no signs of any off-roading or abuse. The paintwork is virtually blemish-free, save for a tiny scuff on the nearside of the front bumper, which is hard to spot, and some small stone chips across the front end. There is some slight surface rust on the underside of the side steps, but the chassis and underbody is in very good shape. All of the body trims are present and correct, and the light lenses are undamaged. Its nine twin-spoke alloy wheels are also in great shape.

The story is much the same inside, with only minimal signs of use. The interior presents in excellent order, with a very tiny mark on the driver’s seat being flagged by the vendor. The carpets, rear seats, and headlining are all in fantastic condition, with no marks, staining or damage. Even the boot is clean and tidy, complete with Land Rover rubber mats.

All of the infotainment system and other electrics are working as intended, including the upgraded LED interior lighting and the radio being re-tuned to pick up European radio frequencies – but there are no UK maps in the sat-nav system.

While the servicing history and original handbook are present and correct, they are mostly in Japanese. The last service was upon its arrival in Northern Ireland, carried out in June 2020, during which the engine oil was flushed and the filter replaced, along with the cabin filter, transfer box oil, and front and rear differential oils. The water pump has also been replaced during the vendor’s ownership. Previous servicing was carried out in Japan, and a summary is included below.

The first UK roadworthiness test was carried out on 6 August 2020 and resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The vehicle is fitted with four Yokohama tyres in great condition, showing more than 6mm tread on all tyres, and there are no known faults or defects.

Due to the fact that this specification was never sold in the UK, this is an opportunity for Land Rover enthusiasts to own an unusual variant of the Discovery 4, which is also ULEZ exempt for London-based bidders. Presented in excellent condition, with a powerful V8 engine and well-appointed cabin, this Land Rover Discovery 4 would make a great SUV for touring or towing, and is ready to enjoy.
