2011 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 XS - SPECTRE EVOCATION

This Land Rover Defender 110 XS Double Cab is an eye-catching recreation of the antagonist’s menacing Defender as seen in the 2015 Bond adventure ‘Spectre’. Under the bonnet lies a 2.2-litre inline-four turbodiesel engine, driving all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 56,000 miles.

First registered on 18 November 2011, this 2012 model year 110 XS has been in the hands of the current vendor for the past two months, and has just two previous keepers on the V5C. Aping the ‘Bigfoot’ specification created for the film, this UK-market example has been converted with a host of additional equipment faithful to the cars seen on screen.

Finished in Buckingham Blue, which looks closer to black in certain light conditions; this 110 XS features a raft of modifications including a roof-mounted luggage rack, external roll cage, black front grille and external snorkel among the highlights.

The Defender’s bodywork remains in good order with no major dents or damage visible. Some scratches are visible around the tailgate, while chips can also be seen around the bottom of the doors. The vendor adds that some minor blemishes are present around the windows. Other visual enhancements include LED roof lights, bonnet-mounted rope, and a WARN Zeon 10-S electric winch, as used on the Defenders in the movie. The 16-inch ‘Beadlock’ alloy wheels are the same items as seen in Spectre, and these remain in good order with no kerbing damage thanks to their 37-inch off-road tyres.

Inside, the Defender’s menacing aura continues, with black leather used liberally throughout the cabin. Recaro Sportster CS seats reside in place of the originals as per the movie car, remaining in good order with no rips or tears. The hardwearing black dashboard plastics are also free of damage, while the red-backed TMD Tuning rev counter and speedometer add a touch of visual aggression to this landmark off-roader, along with the TMD Tuning steering wheel.

The vendor adds that there is a small mark on the central armrest, and that the handbrake warning light can sometimes illuminate when the handbrake is off – but otherwise everything else remains in full working order.

The most recent service was carried out at 55,133 miles by M&G Motor Services. The Defender has received routine maintenance throughout its life, with annual servicing from 2014 to 2018 inclusive on file, in addition to the most recent work.

The most recent MOT test was on 24 July 2020 at 55,133 miles. This was a first-time pass with zero advisories. Riding on gigantic Maxxis Trepador off-road tyres, these have approximately 17mm of tread remaining all round.

This Land Rover Defender 110 XS Double Cab is an immensely versatile and rugged vehicle, made all the more desirable by its status as a faithful homage to a menacing movie car.
