2011 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 SINGLE CAB PICKUP

This Land Rover Defender 110 Single Cab Pickup is a rugged and highly capable 4x4, which has undergone a sympathetic restoration and benefits from a few cosmetic modifications. Under the bonnet sits the 2.4-litre Ford Duratorq diesel engine, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 58,481 miles from new.

First registered in January 2011, this Defender has just one owner on the V5C, having been owned by the same family from new until it was sold on Collecting Cars in February 2021. Over the last two months, the car has been treated to a mechanical overhaul and interior refurbishment, enhancing the appearance of this Land Rover.

Mechanically, the car was improved by the fitment of new rear shock absorbers, front suspension arm bushes, rear brake pads and new brake pipes, while the underside has been cleaned, sealed and rust-proofed with Waxoyl. While the paintwork has been left, the exterior has been given a fresh aesthetic with refurbished and colour-coded wheel arches, replacement wing mirrors and mud flaps, a galvanised steel bumper, and a Heritage-style front grille with colour-matched headlight surrounds. The cabin now has a smart wood-rimmed steering wheel, heavy duty rubber mats, wood flooring in the loading bay, and new Masai tan leather seat covers.

The bodywork of this Defender is all in very good order for its age, and its Tamar Blue paintwork is believed to be entirely original. A few stone chips can be seen on the front end and in the windscreen, while a few scratches and scuffs are visible on the skirts, rear end and wheel arches. It also has the common bubbling in the paint on the windscreen blocks. The khaki canvas roof appears to fit very well, though it features some very slight discolouration, and some marks on the rear window. The car rides on a set of restored 16-inch steel wheels, which are now colour-coded to the body and are in excellent condition.

Inside, the new Masai tan seat covers are in excellent shape, with cream piping and black outer panels. The seats present with no visible wear, while the wood-rimmed three-spoke Astrali steering wheel is also in great condition. The flooring on the driver’s side shows some wear, though this is now largely disguised by a set of brand new floor mats. A handful of scratches and scuffs can be seen around the glovebox area. An aftermarket Sony stereo is installed, and no electrical faults have been detected.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken alongside the restoration work in April 2021 at 58,465 miles, where technicians at Kainths Automotive in Leicester changed the engine oil, filter and diesel filter. This Defender is understood to have been routinely serviced by its first owner, and while no written records were kept to verify this, the vendor states that the clean condition of the underside is good evidence of careful maintenance and prior rust-proofing.

The most recent MOT test was on 11 February 2021 at 58,404 miles, which resulted in a pass with two advisories to monitor a corroded brake pipe, which has now been replaced. The tyres are reported to be in excellent condition, all with 8mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s handbook, invoices for the recent partial restoration work, a spare wheel, and an original jack.

This Land Rover Defender 110 Single Cab is a smart 4x4, which has undergone some notable refurbishment of the seat trim, mechanicals, and some exterior details. While the car was envisaged as a utility model from the factory, the updated cabin lends the car a touch of class, and as such it would make an appealing daily driver or ‘workhorse’ off-roader alike.
