2011 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 SINGLE CAB PICKUP

This Land Rover Defender 110 Single Cab Pickup is an iconic utility vehicle, which can hold its own in the most adverse of conditions, and is ready to be put into service straight away. Under the bonnet is the 2.4-litre diesel inline-four, which drives all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with differential locks and high and low-range gearing. The odometer displays 58,401 miles.

First registered in January 2011, this Defender has been owned by the same family from new – with only one keeper on the V5C – and is now offered for sale by the trade.

There is not believed to have been any prior damage to any of the body panels, which all present in good order for their age. As a working utility vehicle, this Defender has acquired its share of minor scratches and scrapes along the way; and the vendor states that its Tamar Blue paintwork is in fair condition. It has the common bubbling in the paint on the windscreen blocks, and there is some surface corrosion on the exposed metal surfaces, including the rear section of the chassis and the mudguard brackets.

Furthermore, the matt black paintwork covering the aluminium door mirror arms has flaked away, and there is a crack in the passenger-side door mirror cover. However, these are all relatively minor issues, and easily rectified should the next owner wish. Covering the rear load area, the khaki canvas hood is in great shape, and while there are some minor marks and stains on its surface, it is free of any rips, tears or other damage.

This Defender rides on a set of 16-inch steel wheels, which are in good shape overall, but feature some blemishes and spots of corrosion on their white painted surfaces, which is commensurate with the vehicle’s age and use.

In the cabin, the seats are still clad in their original upholstery, and present very well, having been protected with covers from new. Elsewhere, the interior trim shows some general signs of use, including wear on the gear knob, on the steering wheel rim, and scratches on the passenger’s grab handle. In addition, the rubber flooring in the driver’s footwell has worn through, exposing the painted metal floor beneath, while the load bay’s grey vinyl covering has deteriorated. All of the vehicle’s buttons, switches and electrical items are reported to work without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Offered in good mechanical health, this Defender was routinely serviced by its previous owner, who most recently replaced the engine oil and oil filter; however, no written records were kept to verify this.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 11 February 2021 at 58,404 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with advisories noting some corrosion on the brake pipes. All four wheels are fitted with General Grabber A/T tyres, which appear to be in generally good order and have at least 4mm of usable tread remaining.

This robust off-roader will be accompanied by its original handbooks, although its service book is not present. 

This Land Rover Defender 110 Single Cab Pickup is a supremely practical all-terrain workhorse, which is offered for sale in good order for its age and with relatively low mileage from new. While the next owner may wish to make some small cosmetic improvements, it should prove to be a faithful companion, offering a sizable load space and strong mechanicals.
