2011 FERRARI 599 GTB - HGTE PACKAGE

This Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a thrilling grand tourer, presented with a high specification, including the coveted HGTE package. Its engine is the 6.0-litre ‘Tipo F140C’ naturally aspirated V12, producing 612bhp, coupled to the six-speed ‘F1 SuperFast’ automated transmission. The odometer shows 12,289 miles.

The car benefits from the Handling GTE package, which includes lowered and stiffened springs, a thicker rear anti-roll bar, five-spoke modular wheels, and a revised exhaust system. The F1 transmission software is also upgraded to enable even faster shifts. It is also specified with the carbon-ceramic brake discs and yellow callipers.

First registered in October 2011, this 599 left the factory in striking triple-layer Rosso Fuoco, with an interior trimmed in black leather, Alcantara and carbon-fibre. It has two previous keepers on the log book, and it has been in the vendor’s possession for one year. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the low mileage, it is believed that for some of the car’s early life it was kept off the road in storage, but for the last three or four years, it has been in use and put through annual MOT tests.

The car has no evidence of any damage to its striking bodywork, and the Rosso Fuoco paint is in superb condition. The exterior has been protected by a full body paint protection film (PPF) application upon the vendor’s receipt of the car, supported by a lengthy warranty. The body trims are all in very good order, and the car was specified from the factory with the Scuderia Ferrari wing shields. While it was originally supplied with the HGTE exhaust, the back boxes have since been changed to a Capristo system. It rides on the correct 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, which have some minor marks.

In the cabin, the upholstery is in very good condition, showing only modest wear to the driver’s seat bolster. The black leather and Alcantara is otherwise in great shape, accented by contrast stitching in red, including for the embroidered ‘Cavallino’ emblem and ‘Handling GTE’ motif. The factory equipment includes fully electrically adjustable carbon-fibre sport seats, with memory settings on the driver’s side, dual-zone climate control, the original Ferrari media system with navigation, and front and rear parking sensors. The driver reports no faults with any interior controls, switches, or other electrics, and no warning lights are present on the dashboard.

The vendor notes that the car has a comprehensive Ferrari service history and benefits from a fresh service carried out by H.R. Owen prior to the auction in December 2020. During this scheduled maintenance, the clutch wear reading was noted as only 19.4% wear.

The most recent MOT test took place on 27 November 2020 at 12,285 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories. It wears Pirelli P Zero tyres on all four corners, which are reported to be in good condition with 5.5-6.0mm of tread. The vehicle comes with the original handbook and service book, documentation of the service history, as well as the original tool kit, air compressor and Ferrari repair gloves.

This Ferrari 599 GTB is a superb example of one of the marque’s most desirable grand tourers, presented in a rare factory colour. The sharper response of the Handling GTE package makes this a thrilling road car, while it is still eminently comfortable enough for long-distance road trips.
