EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Finished in black with a subtle silver fuel-tank stripe, this 1198 is equipped with the Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS) for full-thrust upshifts. It also has Pazzo Racing short levers, and a Ducati Performance Parts open clutch.
• It rides on magnesium wheels controlled by Öhlins suspension, and is also fitted with an Öhlins steering damper.
• Stopping power is taken care of by Brembo brakes, and the maximum range increased by an 18-litre lightweight aluminium fuel cell.
• This SP has been further enhanced by its distinctive carbon-fibre Termignoni exhaust, ‘double-bubble’ screen and bodywork protection decals.
• The bike comes complete with owner’s manual with code card, stamped service book and invoices to confirm the cam belt has been changed.
• It is supplied with one key.

CONDITION

• The deep black paintwork of this Ducati is described as excellent by the vendor and presents very well in the photographs. Believed to be original, there are some light scratches around the ignition key-slot and a small chip to the right front fairing. There are also some small blemishes to the rear tail section.
• There is no damage to the frame or any of the carbon-fibre pieces, and there are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
• The most recent MOT test was carried out on 29 June 2020 at 8,306 miles and resulted in an advisory-free pass after the rear reflector was replaced.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was carried-out by Silverstone Ducati in June 2021 at 8,350 miles and included an oil and filter change, and the replacement of the timing belt. Two new Pirelli Super Corsa tyres were also fitted.
• The 2013 service at 7,468 miles was completed by Cornerspeed Ducati in Sutton-in-Ashfield. It also included a timing belt change and service of the desmodromic valves.
• Two further services are recorded in September 2012 and June 2011.

Described by Motorcycle News as “brutally grunty” when launched, the rare and sought-after Ducati 1198 SP is no less impressive a decade later.
