This Audi R8 GT is an excellent example of the former flagship model for the marque’s thoroughly captivating mid-engine performance car. Powered by a sonorous 552bhp 5.2-litre V10 engine coupled to the robotised manual R-Tronic transmission, this example has covered just 21,500 miles from new.
One of just 33 original UK-supplied cars, and believed to be one of only 25 remaining here, this R8 GT was first registered on 21 October 2011. It has been owned by the vendor since July 2018, and is only being sold due to a lack of garage space. The GT benefits from numerous upgrades over the standard R8 V10, with various carbon composite panels that include the rear hatch, front splitter, rear bumper and diffuser, rear wing, and the side-blades. The engine bay is also all finished in carbon-fibre. Engineers used thinner sheet metal for the front luggage compartment hatch, while the bulkhead between the cabin and engine is polycarbonate. All of this helps to make the GT a full 100kg lighter than its sibling.
The bodywork on this R8 GT is resplendent in striking Phantom Black Metallic, and presents free from scratches and other damage, with only very minor stone chips to the front end. All of the carbon composite features are in superb order, while a dash of colour is provided by the red ‘GT’ wing badges and red brake callipers. All of the visible carbon-fibre components outside and in have a smart matt finish, and are in superb order. The titanium-look Y-spoke alloy wheels are all in excellent condition, and virtually unmarked, save for a minor chip on the nearside front wheel.
Inside, this R8 GT is equipped with the lightweight bucket seats trimmed in black Alcantara, with orange contrast stitching and orange seat belts. The headlining and the squared-off steering wheel are trimmed to match, while the floor mats also have orange binding. All of the upholstery is in wonderful condition, with no damage, and only slight signs of use on the Alcantara seats and steering wheel that is commensurate with the mileage. There are no reported faults with this car, and everything works as it should.

The rear tyres are approaching three years old and show 6.5mm of tread, while the age of the front tyres is unknown but they still have 5mm of tread remaining.
The Audi R8 is rightly regarded as one of the most user-friendly supercars, and this exceptionally rare R8 GT loses very little in the way of comfort or practicality, yet delivers a notably more exciting and involving driving experience. With its raft of upgrades over the standard car giving it serious appeal to supercar collectors and driving enthusiasts, this car will no doubt surprise and delight its next owner whenever they get behind the wheel.
