NO RESERVE: 2010 PORSCHE 911 (997) SPORT CLASSIC

KEY FACTS

• A fastidiously maintained example of a very rare limited edition, with just 250 examples produced.
• It is powered by the 402bhp Power Kit version of the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, coupled to a six-speed short-shift manual transmission
• The car was last serviced in August 2020 at 7,670 miles, when a rev check was also carried out, and it has covered just 100 miles since.

EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

• The Sport Classic featured the rear-wheel drive Carrera S running gear in the wide body of the four-wheel-drive model, with a bespoke ‘double bubble’ roof, revised front and rear bumpers and side skirts, and the iconic ‘ducktail’ rear spoiler and Fuchs alloys. All examples were finished in the same colour scheme of Sport Classic Grey over smooth-finish Espresso brown leather with woven leather and fabric panels.
• Standard equipment included ceramic brakes (PCCB), and the Sport chassis pack that comprised a limited-slip differential, and a 20mm lower ride height with revised spring and damper rates. The short-shift gearbox kit was also fitted, and this particular car came with the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System.
• Accompanying the car are all of the original books, the tool kit, and a car cover. All of the maintenance invoices are also on file, along with a Sport Classic brochure. The car has also been featured in two magazines.

CONDITION

• No known body damage. Its front windscreen was replaced in July 2011 by Porsche Centre East London.
• The Sport Classic Grey paint finish is assumed to be original, and is in excellent condition.
• Its interior has evidently been well-cared for, with no perceptible wear to the Espresso leather upholstery, or the unique woven panel finishes.
• There are no known faults.
• The most recent MOT test was on 26 August 2020 at 7,670 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no defects or advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The last service was in August 2020 at 7,670 miles, carried out by Porsche Centre Leeds, which included an engine oil and filter change, and fresh brake fluid. A rev check was also carried out, which is included below.
• The front and rear tyres were all renewed in December 2018 at 7,616 miles, so they remain in virtually as-new condition.

SUMMARY

The Porsche 997 Sport Classic is a stunning collector-quality example of the limited edition retro-inspired coupe. It has evidently been cherished throughout its life to date, including regular servicing despite the very low mileage. It is a joy to drive on the road, and would be a credit to any discerning Porsche collection.
