2010 JAGUAR XKR CONVERTIBLE

This Jaguar XKR Convertible is a sleek and stylish performance sports tourer, presented in an attractive colour scheme and with only two owners from new. Under the expansive bonnet is the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, which produces around 510bhp and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic transmission for an impressive 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds. The odometer displays 80,116 miles from new.

First registered in August 2010, this X150-generation XKR’s logbook lists only one prior keeper from new. As the service book’s first stamp shows Jaguar Land Rover in Gaydon, which is one of the company’s principal engineering locations, it is believed that this car was maintained in-house for the first four years of its life – perhaps as a VIP company car. The second private owner acquired the car in March 2015, and it is now offered for sale by the trade.

The timeless Ian Callum-designed aluminium bodywork remains in great shape and has no signs of any prior damage. The Ultimate Black metallic paintwork is also in good overall condition with a few stone chips and imperfections around the car. The seller reports that the front bumper has been resprayed at some stage, and is now marked by stone chips and a scuff towards its lower nearside. Otherwise, the finish remains very good around the rest of the car.

Having been recently replaced due to a crack in the original item (as shown in the gallery), the windscreen is now as-new, and the black convertible hood is in very good order, with no rips, tears or fading, and fits snuggly over its frame. The car rides on the correct set of 20-inch ‘Nevis’ alloy wheels, which present very well, and are free of damage or kerb scratches.

Stepping inside, this XKR’s cabin is described by the vendor as being in good condition, and is upholstered in original Warm Charcoal leather with white stitching. The seats wear their age well, and while there are some minor marks – most notably wear on the driver’s seat’s outer bolster – this is in line with the car’s mileage.

Elsewhere, the interior trim presents very well, and the centre console’s piano black surfaces are relatively unmarked, though the chrome-effect coating on the switches for the electrically adjustable driver’s seat is coming away, which is common in XKRs of this era. Factory-fitted equipment includes a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system, satellite navigation and front and rear parking sensors. The vendor reports that there are no faults with any of the car’s buttons, switches or electrical items, and no warning lights.

Having evidently started its life with an employee at Jaguar Land Rover’s Gaydon engineering base, it is assumed that this XKR’s mechanical components were routinely inspected and serviced to the highest standards. Regular maintenance is documented in its service booklet and is summarised below.

Its last maintenance was completed in September 2018 at 75,126 miles by Jaguar dealer Guy Salmon, Maidstone, which was recorded as a ‘B’ service in the accompanying record. Prior to this, the car was serviced in September 2017 at 69,976 miles and August 2016 at 65,667 miles, again at Guy Salmon Maidstone.

This handsome open-top tourer’s last MOT test was conducted on 26 March 2020 at 79,387 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories. The car’s alloy wheels are shod in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres dating from 2018 and 2019, which the seller reports are in excellent condition, with around 7mm of tread remaining on each corner.

This elegant Jaguar will be accompanied by its original handbooks and stamped service book, as well as the original tool kit, locking wheel nut and its most recent MOT test certificate.

A smart example of the luxurious yet high-performance 2+2 tourer, this Jaguar XKR Convertible is finished in a classic black-on-black colour scheme and has had just two keepers from new. Combining prodigious power with impressive refinement, this XKR is ready to be enjoyed immediately, and is sure to charm its next owner with its supercharged performance and well-appointed interior.
