2010 FORD FOCUS (MK2) RS

This Ford Focus (Mk2) RS is a clean, unmodified example of a modern classic hot hatch, with a more characterful drive than many of its peers and successors. Under the bonnet sits a 2.5-litre inline five-cylinder engine producing 300bhp, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, which sends its power to the front wheels via a limited-slip differential. The odometer indicates 68,374 miles from new.

First registered in October 2010, this vehicle has been cherished by just one owner from new, who has maintained a comprehensive annual servicing scheduled on the RS over a 10-year period of ownership.

During its life, the vendor has replaced the rear bumper and tailgate due to a low speed impact at a red traffic light. The work was done at a Ford-approved body shop to a high standard. The vendor notes the vehicle’s Performance Blue paintwork has some visible marks. A small scratch on the offside of the front bumper, a minor scratch on the passenger door, a small number of stone chips on the nose and some minor blemishes on the roof are noted. However, the paint has kept its vibrancy and the owner reports that all four wheels were refurbished in October 2019.

The original blue, black and grey interior remains in excellent condition, with some very minor wear to the driver’s seat bolster. The owner notes the original carpet floor mats are as new, due to the use of rubber floor matts (also supplied).  The vendor has also noted that no faults are present with any interior electrics or equipment.

The last service took place at 67,344 miles at Jackson Ford Teddington in October 2019, where the engine oil, filters, consumables, spark plugs, front tyres, and front brake discs and pads were changed. Prior to this, over the course of a minor service in 2017 and a major service in 2018, the brake fluid, engine oil, filters, consumables and sump plug were also changed. In August 2019, the vendor replaced the air-conditioning compressor.

The most recent MOT test took place on 13 October 2019, which resulted in a clean pass. The driver describes the Michelin tyres as excellent, and notes the front tyres were replaced approximately 1,000 miles ago, while the rears were replaced approximately 1,500 miles ago, and all have more than 5mm of tread depth remaining.

The vehicle comes with the original service book providing proof of a full Ford service history, as well as bills for recent maintenance.

This Ford Focus RS Mk2 is an unmolested example of a collectable contemporary hot hatch, with a comprehensive history and just one meticulous enthusiast owner on the log book. It has evidently been well-maintained, and is a car that car be used as intended without worrying about the mileage. It begs to be driven, and the next owner should continue to do just that!
