2010 FERRARI 599 HGTE

Considered one of the best handling contemporary GT cars, this Ferrari 599 GTB boasts very low mileage as well as the desirable HGTE performance pack. It is powered by one of the celebrated naturally aspirated engines of all time, the 5.9-litre ‘Tipo F140C’ V12 engine, producing 612bhp and driven through the six-speed ‘F1 SuperFast’ transmission with paddle shift.

First registered in September 2010 this right-hand drive Ferrari 599 HGTE is understood to have had only two previous owners. It was initially registered overseas in Singapore, before being imported to the UK in 2016 being officially re-registered in January 2020. The odometer shows just 13,406 kilometres from new.

The bodywork is finished in stunning Nero Daytona, which is in great shape, with the seller reporting only some paint chipping on the front of the vehicle and slight bubbling just above the rear wheel on the left-hand side. The wheels are 20-inch alloys from the Ferrari F12; the only modification that has been made to this vehicle from its original specification.

The HGTE pack came at a £14,000 premium and includes stiffer springs with a lower ride height, and a stiffer anti-roll bar. There is also a fraction more negative camber added to the front of the car and the magnetic dampers have been recalibrated to deliver even tauter body control, giving the driver even more confidence in the handling at high speeds.

Inside, there is a generous display of carbon-fibre including the frames of the electronically adjustable race seats that provide excellent support. The dashboard, steering wheel and paddles also include carbon-fibre elements, and the Nero leather interior is in good condition with only some minor signs of wear on the driver’s seat bolster. All switchgear is working order, although the seller reports that a couple of the buttons are a little sticky – a common foible of Ferraris of this era.

This vehicle’s last service was in February 2020 when an oil change and general inspection was carried out. The Ferrari also received recent services in 2017 and 2015.

The most recent MOT test was on 28 August 2019 at 9,095 kilometres, which resulted in a clean pass after minor error codes were cleared. A fresh 12-month MOT certificate will be provided ready for handover to the next owner. The tyres are in good condition with between 4mm and 5mm of tread remaining. Accompanying the car is the original handbook and tools, as well as two keys.

This Ferrari 599 GTB is a stylish and sophisticated grand tourer, which can happily play the dual roles of thrilling supercar and relaxed long-distance cruiser, depending on the mood of its driver and the road conditions. Finished in a smart black-on-black colour scheme, and with the sought-after HGTE package, this would make a fine addition to any Ferrari collection, and should prove to be a hugely exciting and rewarding ownership prospect for its next keeper.
