2010 AUDI R8 V10 SPYDER

This 2010 Audi R8 V10 Spyder is a thrilling and sophisticated drop-top supercar, presented in excellent condition and with a smart factory colour scheme. It is powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10, which produces 518bhp at a heady 8,000rpm, paired with the R-Tronic six-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Launched in 2006 and based around the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, the Audi R8 represented a bold new direction for the company, who were better known for their sensible and refined saloons than a road-going supercar. The Spyder version of the R8 was officially unveiled in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor show and was the most expensive regular series Audi ever when it was first put on sale.

First registered in September 2010, this example’s log book shows just two previous registered keepers, which the seller understands was in a business name and then the director’s personal name – meaning one previous owner. It is now being offered for sale by its current owner, who has enjoyed 11,000 miles behind the wheel during their four years of ownership.

Free of dents and damage, this R8 Spyder’s sleek, sculpted bodywork is finished with bright Ibis White paintwork, which is original to the car and is described by the seller as having no visible defects and only very small marks from road use. Elsewhere, all of the car’s trim and badging is present and correct and the headlight lenses are bright and free of chips and scratches. The tail light lenses are also in good condition, with only fine surface scratches caused by washing, however they could easily be polished up to as-new condition.

The electrically-operated black fabric hood is also in very smart condition, with no damage or fading, and fits snugly over the frame. The current owner has also had the original front grille replaced with a ‘Le Mans’ item, adding a bespoke touch to the car’s front-end styling. It rides on its original twin five-spoke gloss black 19-inch wheels, which are in great shape, having been professionally refurbished in November 2019 by Audi specialist Links Automotive of Macclesfield.

Looking to the interior, smooth black leather covers the car’s door cards, dashboard and sports seats, accented by white stitching, which reflects the body colour. Overall, the cabin presents very well, with only minimal marks, including some creasing and light wear to the seats, some small marks on the dashboard leather and slight scuffs on the plastic sill covers – all commensurate with the car’s age and mileage. It is equipped with the Audi Navigation Plus system, as well as heated seats and air conditioning. All of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items are described as working without fault.

Mechanically, this R8 Spyder is in very good condition, having been carefully maintained and with a consistent main dealer and specialist service history. The seller states that scheduled maintenance will be carried out by Links Automotive presently, with a full service completed before handover to the next owner. Prior to this, Links Automotive carried out an interim service on 13 November 2019 at 46,560 miles, replacing the engine oil and spark plugs, as well as the dust and pollen filter element.

The service was carried out alongside investigative and repair work to correct an electrical issue, which was traced to a water-damaged sensor location module. This was replaced, along with the parking aid module and door seals, ensuring that no further leaks would occur. It is also noted that both of the car’s front suspension struts were replaced, as was one of its oil lines.

Its last annual MOT test was held on 19 November 2019 at 46,576 miles, where it received a clean pass with no advisories. The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, with size 235/35 R19 on the front and 305/35 R19 items on the rear. All four are described by the seller as being in good condition and appear to have plenty of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is its original ‘R8’-badged grey Alcantara document folder, containing the original owner’s manual and stamped service record, as well as past MOTs and invoices for previous repair work.

This Audio R8 V10 Spyder is an excellent example of a high-performance and eminently reliable supercar. Boasting incredible pace yet with daily-driver usability, it is suited to most occasions, but really comes alive when the roof can be dropped and the incredible exhaust note can be heard at full volume.
