2010 ASTON MARTIN DBS CARBON BLACK EDITION

This 2010 Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black Edition is a remarkably rare limited-run performance car, presented in outstanding condition and with very low mileage. Under the bonnet is the 5.9-litre ‘AM11’ V12, which sends 510bhp to the rear wheels via a semi-automatic six-speed ‘Touchtronic II’ transmission. The odometer shows just 2,969 miles from new.

First unveiled in 2007, the Aston Martin DBS built upon the marque’s already successful DB9 grand tourer, and introduced more performance, more aggressive styling and an overall sharper edge. In 2010, the Carbon Black Edition was introduced. Limited to just one car per dealer, this is one of the rarest DBS models, featuring unique Carbon Black metallic paintwork, Obsidian Black leather interior, and carbon ceramic brakes.

First registered in December 2010, there are just two previous registered keepers on the log book. Given the condition and mileage, the car has evidently been cherished within private collections, and driven sparingly. It is now offered for sale by the trade.

The sleek bodywork has impressive shut lines and panel gaps all around the car, with absolutely no signs of damage or dents, and is finished in Carbon Black metallic paint. This was applied by hand over a period of 50 hours, according to Aston Martin. The seller describes the finish as being in excellent condition, with no notable marks or blemishes.

The unique exterior details, including the magnum silver mesh covering the bonnet vents and the carbon-fibre mirror arms, all present very well, and the headlight lenses are clear and bright. The car rides on its original 20-inch gloss black painted and diamond turned 10-spoke alloy wheels, which are in great shape.

Moving inside, the cabin is finished in Obsidian Black leather, which extends across the electrically-adjustable sport seats, the rear seats, dashboard, door cards, and the centre console – all of which is accented by contrast stitching. The multi-function steering wheel is finished in smooth black leather with black stitching. All of the trim is in very good condition, with no signs of scuffs or scratches, and with no wear to speak of – in line with the very low mileage.

The Piano Black centre inlay is also very smart, as is the dark Alcantara headlining and the black carpeting – although there are a few light marks around the mat in the driver’s footwell. Aside from the driving experience itself, entertainment is provided courtesy of a Bang and Olufsen stereo system. The seller notes that all of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault.

Mechanically, this DBS is in great shape, with a good main dealer service history, having made annual visits from 2017 onwards. Its last scheduled maintenance was carried out in November 2019 at 2,850 miles at Stratstone Cheshire. This was an annual service that included replacement of the engine oil, oil filter and brake fluid. Prior to this, it was serviced in February 2018 at 2,805 miles and in January 2017 at 2,698 miles – both visits also at Aston Martin main dealers.

The car last underwent an annual MOT test on 30 January 2020 at 2,871 miles, where it received a clean, first time pass with no advisories. Its wheels are shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres with size 245/35 ZR20 on the front and 295/30 ZR20 items to the rear. All four tyres appear to be in very good condition, with the seller noting that each has at least 4mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car are all of its original handbooks, past service records, previous MOT certificates and spare keys, plus its original umbrella and bespoke black indoor car cover with silver accents.

This Aston Martin DBS is a stunning example of the exclusive Carbon Black Edition. Having first been revealed to fans in the ‘Casino Royale’ film, this car’s performance and character need no introduction – though the handsome blend of gloss black finishes, carbon-fibre, and polished metals certainly make this car stand out among less bespoke specifications. Given its remarkably low mileage and pristine condition, this is a collector-quality luxury supercar, but is of course ready to thrill on the open road at a moment’s notice.
