2009 PORSCHE (987) CAYMAN S SPORT

This 2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport is a rare, low-mileage 987 generation model, presented with a distinctive orange finish and in excellent condition. It is equipped with the 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six producing 299bhp, coupled to a six-speed short-shifting manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 34,287 miles from new.

Introduced as an end-of-line special edition model prior to the arrival of the facelifted 987, the Cayman S Sport featured a range of desirable options as standard; including the Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with a 10mm drop in ride height, and the Sport Chrono package. It was also equipped with hard-backed sport seats, an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and the gear knob from the 997 GT3 RS. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with 5mm spacers as standard.

Vehicle number 395 of just 700 examples built and one of only 69 UK-market cars, this Cayman S Sport was first registered in January 2009. It was acquired by the vendor one year ago, who is the seventh owner.

The bodywork of this Cayman presents very well, with flush shut lines, smooth panels and no suggestion of any previous damage. The car is finished with bright Pure Orange paintwork – as seen on the 997 GT3 RS – which is believed to remain entirely original, save for two smart repairs to rectify some light stone chips around the air intake vents. It is finished with the correct ‘Cayman S’ decals, and rides on a set of refurbished 19-inch alloy wheels with coloured Porsche crests on the caps, which are in excellent condition all round.

Inside, the black leather upholstery is in great shape, and the seats present with just some very light creasing. The vendor indicates the Alcantara is slightly worn on the steering wheel and gear knob, but the dashboard and door panels are in very good order. The car’s numbered plaque can be seen on the glovebox lid, while the cabin comes equipped with PCM with navigation, and climate control. All of the switchgear is reported to work as it should.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in February 2021 – ahead of schedule for the next owner’s peace of mind – where technicians at Porsche in Swindon carried out a major service, and also changed the spark plugs and brake fluid. Prior to this, other recent services were out in April 2019 at 32,097 miles and April 2017 at 28,683 – both at Porsche Centre Bristol, including brake fluid changes, a new drive belt, new brake sensors, air-conditioning hoses, and a new battery. The most recent MOT test was on 17 December 2020 at 33,606 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels come wrapped with a set of Bridgestone tyres, which have good tread depth remaining – 4.2mm on the front and 4.8mm at the rear, and all evenly worn.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s books in their leather wallet, alongside two keys and all previous service invoices and MOT certificates.
