2009 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 SVX 6.2 V8 'OUTLANDER'

KEY FACTS

• A rugged special-edition 4x4, with a raft of high-performance modifications costing in excess of £40,000 from Wildcat Defender and Outlander Vehicles.
• Under the bonnet is now a 430bhp 6.2-litre LS3 V8, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This Defender SVX now has a black mesh KBX grille and 18-inch two-tone wheels, in place of the silver grille and bespoke five-spoke alloys featured on the original SVX.
• It retains its factory black paint with satin-effect ‘60 years’ graphics on the bonnet and doors, though the original roll bars and steps have been painted black.
• At the heart of this custom build is an extensive mechanical upgrade by Wildcat Defender, costing around £37,000. The most significant item is the installation of the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 and six-speed automatic gearbox, along with the new exhaust system.
• Other mechanical enhancements by Wildcat include the Stage 1 competition brake system, and Stage 1 suspension and handling upgrade. It has also been fitted with a NAS rear step, steering guard, full soundproofing, recessed DRL front bumper, and LED lighting conversion.
• Outlander Vehicles supplied a teak rear deck, side step treads, a custom wood ‘cubby’ box and centre console around the transmission controls, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel, at a cost of £7,614.
• Its interior has been treated to a full re-trim in Muirhead’s Burnt Plum leather by specialist Ruskin Design. This involved fresh upholstery for the factory-fit Recaro seats, and a re-trim of the dashboard and door cards.
• Currently fitted is a ‘bikini’ style hood and tonneau in brown mohair, installed at a cost of nearly £3,000 by All Wheel Trim Ltd. Also included with the car is a short hood with open sides and rear, plus the original SVX soft top - which still works as it should, though has minor wear damage to one pull tag of the zip.
• In December 2020, this Land Rover was given a major in-car entertainment upgrade. Audio specialist Sextons fitted a new Pioneer SPH-DA250 head unit along with a Focal Impulse 4.320 amplifier, and a Pioneer ND-BC8 reversing camera. A DAB digital radio splitter was also installed, along with a Hertz Mille Pro three-way speaker kit and an Audison APX4 speaker. New matting was added, along with a new fascia kit and cabling, and a Meta S5 security tracker device was also fitted.
• Its original owner’s manuals and service book will be included in their factory leather-bound wallet.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage.
• Its original paintwork is in very good shape, though the vendor has indicated a few small patches of rust on the rear bumper. Both bumpers and sills feature some minor stone chips.
• Inside, its freshly re-trimmed Recaro bucket seats are in superb order, and the leather-trimmed dashboard and door cards are also in excellent condition.
• No electrical faults have been detected.
• The most recent MOT was on 1 February 2021 at 41,225 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or defects.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Its most recent service was in December 2019 at 40,274 miles, at Inchcape Jaguar Land Rover in Guilford.
• In March 2021, specialist RR London removed and resealed the transfer case to rectify a leak, and also renewed the fuel filter regulator, at a total cost of £834.
