2009 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 SVX

This 2009 Land Rover Defender 90 SVX is an excellent example of the limited edition 4x4, presented in highly original condition and with genuine low mileage. Under the bonnet is the 2.4-litre TDCI inline-four, with permanent four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 56,149 miles from new.

Announced in late 2007, the Defender 90 SVX marked the 60th Anniversary of the model, and was equipped with a raft of special features. Finished exclusively in metallic black, it had a bespoke chunky silver fascia for the grille and headlight clusters, as well as an external silver roll cage. There were satin ‘60 Years’ graphics applied to the doors and bonnet, and it was fitted with 16-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels and a more sophisticated suspension setup.

The cabin was also upgraded with half-leather heated Recaro seats, and with air-conditioning and heated screens as standard. First registered in July 2009, this Defender is believed to be one of only 300 examples built in the ‘90’ body style, and has now been with its current keeper for just over one year.

The car’s bodywork is all in good shape, while its Santorini Black paintwork is described as being in generally excellent condition. Some small age-related chips can be seen around the front end and on the exterior roll cage, while some of the exposed screw heads have some surface corrosion. The original decals are still present and correct. Its soft top roof and refurbished 16-inch wheels are also in very good order.

Inside, the half-leather Recaro seats are in superb condition, with just some very light creasing to the bolsters. The plastic dashboard trim has one or two light blemishes, as do the backs of the seats, though the analogue clock, instrument dials and primary contact points are in good shape. Its original Clarion stereo and Garmin satellite navigation are installed, and no electrical faults have been detected.

The last service was undertaken in November 2019 at 55,258 miles, where technicians at Bonnevilles of Berkshire carried out a routine inspection. Prior to this, in December 2015 at 44,644 miles, the car was serviced by Popular Motors in Merriott.

The most recent MOT test was on 21 January 2021 at 56,091 miles, which resulted in a pass with two advisories to monitor a leaking offside front sphere seal and a worn fuel tank breather pipe. The wheels come wrapped with a set of General Grabber tyres, which are reported to be in very good condition.

Accompanying the vehicle are its original handbook, alongside a selection of MOT certificates and maintenance invoices. An additional aftermarket soft top hood will also be supplied.
