2009 FERRARI 599 GTB

This Ferrari 599 GTB is a striking example of the marque’s svelte grand tourer, finished in an eye-catching factory colour scheme and with very low mileage. Under the bonnet lies an Enzo-derived 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V12 producing 612bhp and 448lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed ‘F1 Superfast’ semi-automatic paddle shift transmission. The odometer shows just 22,700 km (14,105 miles).

Originally delivered to the UAE in 2009, this example is understood to have spent the first eight years of its life in the Gulf before being imported into the UK and first registered here on 1 July 2017. It is now offered for sale by the trade, with two former keepers on the V5C and with the third owner having acquired the car in September 2020.

This 599 is understood to have left the factory finished in Bianco Fuji, with an interior trimmed in vibrant red leather. It originally had ball-polished Challenge wheels, though these have since been upgraded to 599 GTO items. Scuderia Ferrari wing shields are also a factory-fit feature, and the first owner chose the optional carbon-ceramic brake discs.

The interior specification also included leather-trimmed seat backs, leather headlining, a leather rear shelf, and with colour-matched stitching and dashboard components. The steering wheel was also finished in the same red. It was specified with the carbon-fibre lower cabin trim, as well as the carbon-fibre Driver Zone.

The pearl white finish on this Ferrari presents in excellent condition, commensurate with the low mileage. It is believed that the passenger door may have been resprayed in the past, but this is not documented in the history file. The vendor also reports that the car has been wrapped with clear paint protection film (PPF) while in the last private ownership. The low front end appears to be free of any chipping or scratching, while the side skirts and body trims are also in very good order.

Wearing the ten-spoke alloy wheels found on the 599 GTO, these have a satin anthracite finish and are free of any kerbing marks or damage to their faces; adding a touch more aggression to this handsome grand tourer’s exterior.

Inside, the Ferrari’s vibrant red leather interior remains in excellent condition throughout. Minor age-related wear is apparent on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat from entering and exiting the vehicle, with both carbon-fibre seats being electrically-adjustable, heated, and having the ‘Cavallino’ emblems embossed on the headrests.

The factory equipment includes dual-zone climate control, a Ferrari media system with navigation, and front and rear parking sensors, which remain in working order. The vendor states that the mirror control button is loose, but there are no other faults or foibles.

The most recent maintenance was carried out in October 2020 at 21,656 km (13,456 miles) by marque specialist DK Engineering. This saw replacement of the auxiliary belt, air-conditioning drive belt and TPMS sensors on all four wheels. The left rear light cluster was also diagnosed as faulty, with a lamp fault warning visible on the dashboard.

In September 2020, a service was carried out by Meridien Modena, with the engine oil, brake fluid, pollen and oil filters replaced, along with the alarm system battery. The same garage also serviced the 599 GTB in November 2017.

The most recent MOT test was on 30 September 2020 at 20,199 km (12,551 miles). This was a first-time pass with zero advisories. Wearing matching Pirelli P Zero tyres all round, the seller describes these as being in very good condition with ample tread remaining.

This Ferrari 599 GTB is a great example of the brand’s flagship ‘super GT’ of its era, presented with a compelling specification and unusual colourway. Its left-hand drive configuration could make this a great choice for transcontinental jaunts in Europe, but it is equally well-suited to weekend blasts in the country.
