2009 ASTON MARTIN DBS - MANUAL

This 2009 Aston Martin DBS is an excellent example of the refined contemporary British supercar, presented in a timeless black-on-black colour scheme and equipped with the extremely rare and sought-after manual gearbox. Under its long, sweeping bonnet is the 5.9-litre V12, delivering up to 510bhp to the rear wheels via the six-speed transmission. The odometer displays 52,961 miles from new.

First unveiled in 2007, the Aston Martin DBS built upon the already impressive DB9 grand tourer, adding an aggressive edge with enhanced performance, sharper styling and an all-round more dynamic feel.

This wonderful example was first registered on 22 January 2009, and was specified with Storm Black paintwork, matched to an interior trimmed in Obsidian Black semi-aniline leather. It was ordered in the ‘2+0’ specification with the rear seats omitted, providing additional storage space for long weekend getaways.

With just one previous keeper, it was acquired by the seller nearly four years ago, and has evidently been well-cared for, supplied with excellent Aston Martin service history from new.

Today, this DBS’ sleek bodywork presents in excellent condition, and its Storm Black finish is also in great shape, with a smooth and glossy appearance around the car and no flaws or blemishes highlighted by the vendor. The exterior details, including the carbon-fibre front lip spoiler, rear diffuser and door mirror arms are also in very good order. This athletic grand tourer rides on its original 20-inch, 10 twin-spoke alloy wheels, which are in pristine condition, and house the car’s subtle black brake callipers and ceramic brake discs.

In the well-appointed cabin, the electrically adjustable sport seats and rear luggage shelf area are upholstered in a mixture of Obsidian Black semi-aniline leather and black Alcantara, which is accented by white stitching. All of the interior trim remains in impressive condition, and while there is some minor wear and creasing to the driver’s seat’s outer bolster, this is commensurate with the car’s age. Both the steering wheel and tactile manual gear knob also present very well indeed.

Factory-fitted equipment includes a 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen Beosound system, satellite navigation, electrically adjustable seats with memory settings, and front and rear parking sensors. The vendor states that all of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work as they should, and that there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This British supercar’s most recent routine maintenance was a general service, carried out in June 2018 at 49,603 miles by Aston Martin dealer Stratstone Wilmslow. More recently, the same dealer also investigated and repaired an issue with the air-conditioning system in July 2020. While it is otherwise entirely original and unmodified, the car has been fitted with an exhaust valve bypass switch, allowing the driver to experience the full sound of its wonderful V12 at the touch of a button.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 22 July 2020 at 51,373 miles, resulting in a clean pass after the car’s windscreen washer was repaired. All four wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres, in size 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear, which the vendor states are in as-new condition, as the car has not been driven in the interim.

This DBS will be accompanied by its original stamped service book and a folder containing various invoices that detail its recent maintenance.

Providing grace, pace and surprising amounts of space thanks to its ‘2+0’ seating arrangement, this Aston Martin DBS is a wonderful modern grand tourer. Presented in excellent condition and routinely serviced by Aston Martin main dealers, this example is sure to thrill its next owner every time they put the roaring V12 and engaging manual gearbox through their paces.
