2009 ALFA ROMEO 8C COMPETIZIONE

This 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is a rare and beautiful contemporary performance car, presented in excellent condition and with low mileage from new. Under the bonnet is the sonorous 4.7-litre V8, which produces 450bhp at 7,000rpm, and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer displays just 17,631 miles.

One of only 500 examples produced, this 8C Competizione is an original UK-market car and was first registered in March 2009. There are just two previous keepers on the V5C, and it was acquired by the seller nearly four years ago.

Today, the curvaceous carbon-fibre bodywork is in excellent shape, and the vendor notes that in a previous ownership the front bumper was replaced, and there was a bodywork repair carried out by Joe Macari, although no details of the work are on file. Described as being in good overall condition, the black finish has recently been treated to a £1,000 paint correction detail, and has a smooth and swirl-free appearance all around the car, with only stone chips commensurate with the mileage. This 8C rides on its original 20-inch alloy wheels, with the front right showing a kerbing mark and a chip in the paint.

On stepping into the cabin, you are met by exposed carbon-fibre of the tub, door panels and sport seats, with the latter trimmed in rich tan leather with woven panels and fluted centres. Both present very well, with some wear to the driver’s outer bolster. The original stereo has been replaced with a more modern Alpine unit with Bluetooth connectivity. All of the switchgear works as it should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This 8C’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in October 2020 at 17,569 miles by Dick Lovett Swindon, who changed the engine oil and carried out an inspection. Prior to this, it was fully serviced in August 2018 at 16,947 miles by Migliore Cars, and an annual service was performed in May 2017 at 15,789 miles by Joe Macari. During the seller’s ownership, the car has had oil check valves installed, the variator solenoids have been replaced and the exhaust volume adjuster has been reconnected. Furthermore, the suspension components have been replaced with uprated fully adjustable aftermarket parts, though the original items will also be included in the sale.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 8 March 2021 at 17,599 miles, which resulted in a clean first-time pass. Accompanying this 8C are all of its original handbooks, its hardback sales brochure, invoices for its past maintenance and even a set of matching fitted luggage.

This Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is a stunning high-performance GT, which is also a very rare sight on the road.
