2008 SAAB 9-3 2.8T V6 AERO CONVERTIBLE

This Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible is a very smart and sophisticated open-top tourer, equipped with a powerful engine and finished in a great factory colour scheme. Under the bonnet is a 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 producing 252bhp, with front-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 55,556 miles from new.

Having been first registered in January 2008, the clear HPI report shows four previous registered keepers noted on the log book. The seller has owned the car for nearly two years, and has covered around 1,300 miles behind the wheel.

The bodywork and paint is reported to be in excellent condition, and the full photo gallery below certainly showcases a car that presents very well. The seller states that they can find only one tiny stone chip on the front bumper. As a range-topping Aero specification car, it has a deeper front bumper, sill skirts and a discreet boot lid spoiler. Its roof mechanism is in perfect working order, and the seller notes only some minor tree sap stains on the blue fabric hood. The car rides on the original 17-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, which are in superb condition.

In the cabin, there are no rips or other defects to the Parchment leather, and only signs of use in line with the age and mileage, with some creases and wear on both front seats. They have electric adjustment and heating, and memory settings on the driver’s side. The rear seats have obviously seen less use, and have only modest wear to the grain leather trim. Factory-fitted equipment includes dual-zone climate control and rear parking sensors, and the fold-up wind deflector is still present - along with its storage bag.

The last scheduled maintenance was in July 2019, carried out by Bagnall Saab in Birmingham, which consisted of a full engine oil service with renewal of all filters. During the current ownership, the rear brake pads have also been replaced.

Its most recent MOT test was on 25 March 2020 at 55,510 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories. The wheels are shod in Yokohama BluEarth tyres in size 235/45 R17 all round, which are date-coded to 2015 and all have plenty of tread remaining.

The car is accompanied by all of the original books and sales literature, including the owner’s handbook, stamped maintenance record, brochure, and an accessories guide. There are two keys - including a replacement casing for one of them - as well as the factory-supplied tools and space-saver spare wheel. The registration ‘WG02 PUB’ is not the original age-related plate, but it will come with the car.

This Saab 9-3 V6 Aero Convertible is a comfortable and refined four-seater, with relatively low mileage, and which looks superb in its Ice Blue over Parchment colour scheme. With its powerful and smooth turbocharged V6 engine, it offers genuinely brisk pace, and is a pleasure to use for longer road trips. This is a car to drive and enjoy, and promises inexpensive yet stylish summer motoring.
