2008 ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM

This 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom a striking example of the coveted luxury saloon, finished in a lesser-seen factory hue and in excellent condition throughout. Under the bonnet sits the 6.75-litre V12 engine producing 454bhp, coupled with a ZF six-speed automatic transmission. The odometer currently indicates 88,340 miles from new.

First registered in April 2008, this Phantom has been in the possession of its current keeper for the last two years, who purchased it as a Rolls-Royce approved vehicle following over £10,000 worth of maintenance and improvements from marque specialist P&A Wood. There is just one previous owner before him, who initially registered the car to his company, before changing it to his personal details.

The car was supplied and serviced by P&A Wood from new, and was specified with the ‘theatre’ rear seating configuration with folding picnic tables, concealed screens and a DVD changer, as well as a crossbanded burr elm veneers, extended leather headlining, an electric sunroof and chrome-plated exhausts.

The bodywork of this Phantom is in superb condition, and to the best of the vendor’s knowledge, has never sustained any damage. The condition of the Madeira Red paintwork has been described as excellent, and though some minor touched-in stone chips are present on the front wheel arches and some light wear is visible on various pieces of chrome trim, the finish is believed to be entirely original and appears deep and glossy. Two fine gold coachlines were painted on the car by P&A Wood when the car was purchased by the current owner, which suit the colour scheme very well. The vendor has indicated a small scratch on the centre of the rear bumper, though the elegant grille and Spirit of Ecstasy are in great shape. The vehicle rides on a set of 21-inch wheels, which present with some light spotting to the centres, but are otherwise in great condition.

Its Consort Red interior trim has been described as being in excellent order, and while some minor creasing can be seen on the driver’s seat, the leather presents with no tears or other damage. The colour scheme continues through the plush carpets, and the dashboard is accented with the bright crossbanded elm burr inlays. In the rear, there are two seats separated by the back armrest, containing pull-out controls for the media system, as well as cupholders and heated seat controls nearer the floor. The Rolls-Royce has four-zone climate control, cruise control, handsfree telephone connectivity, and the famous door-mounted umbrellas. All of the cabin’s electrical equipment is reported to work as it should.

The vendor notes the vehicle comes with a full P&A Wood service history from new, with 12 stamps in the book. The last routine maintenance was undertaken in February 2021 at 88,270 miles, where technicians changed the engine oil, filters, drive belts and hydraulic brake fluid. Prior to this, similar routine maintenance was undertaken in February 2020 at 87,505 miles and in February 2019 at 82,406 miles. The car has also been fitted with a replacement water pump, boot motor, rear heater switch, and a new windscreen after the original sustained a stone chip. It is accurate to say that the Phantom has been cared for with no expense spared, and there are no fewer than 34 invoices on file for servicing and maintenance.

The most recent MOT test was on 1 February 2021 at 88,285 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels come wrapped with a set of Goodyear tyres, which are all reported to be in good condition and have all been replaced in the last three years.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s handbook and service book, an extensive history file, a copy of the original bill of sale – with a total price of £293,803.75 – a selection of Phantom literature, and the full toolkit and battery charger.

A smooth, sophisticated and sumptuous luxury saloon, this Rolls-Royce Phantom is presented with a high factory specification, a rare colour scheme, and a comprehensive maintenance history from one of the most renowned Rolls-Royce dealers. Described by its current keeper as a true modern classic, this Phantom would make a sublime addition to any collection, and is always an event to drive or be driven in.
