2008 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 PICK UP 'CUSTOM'

This 2008 Land Rover Defender 90 Pick Up is a neat homage to the official Heritage edition cars, presented with a host of tasteful modifications and in good order throughout. Under the bonnet sits the 2.4-litre TDCI engine producing around 120bhp, with permanent four-wheel-drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 89,500 miles from new.

A smart tribute with its original chassis that has been Waxoyl treated and sealed, this Defender comes equipped with a Heritage style grille and galvanised bumper, side running bars with silver chequer plating and a ‘HUE166’ side decal, as well as new headlamps, bezels, side lights and indicators all round. First registered in March 2008, this original right-hand-drive example has been with its current keeper for the last year, and has just two prior keepers on the V5C.

The bodywork of this Defender presents well, with no signs of any prior damage. It now presents with smooth and straight panels, also benefitting from a respray in its original colour of Keswick Green – though there may be a few very small marks in the finish. The vehicle rides on a set of white steel wheels, matching the colour scheme of the roof, which present in good condition, showing only minor surface blemishes around the wheel nuts.

Moving inside, the grey vinyl upholstery is believed to be entirely original, and though the vendor has indicated some wear to the driver’s seat bolster which could benefit from some attention, the overall condition is described as good. There appears to be some light surface marks on the centre tray, though the dashboard trim is sound, and all of the switchgear is reported to work as it should, with no electrical issues detected.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken at 89,250 miles, where technicians at MCS Auto Service changed the engine oil, filters and differential oils. Prior to this, similar routine oil changes were undertaken in January 2019 at 82,958 miles and in February 2018 at 76,877 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 9 February 2021 in Northern Ireland at 89,590 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The wheels come wrapped with a set of General Grabber TR tyres, which are reported to have around 3-4mm of tread remaining.
