EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

CONDITION

• No known body damage.
• The paintwork is in generally good condition for its age, with only minor damage to be expected given the mileage. There is light scratching to the side panels, minor marks on door edges and corners. Some surface bubbling is also present around the front windscreen and roof.
• While the Defender’s body panels are aluminium, there is surface rust visible on the exterior fixtures and the rear cross-member and bumper.
• The interior is in excellent order overall, with no heavy wear or damage, and only modest signs of use throughout.
• There are no known electrical faults.
• It has a few drops of oil from the transfer box occasionally, but otherwise it is mechanically very clean.
• The most recent MOT test was on 20 November 2020 at 74,458 miles, which resulted in a pass with no advisories, after an anti-roll bar bush and a side repeater were attended to.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The car was last serviced in May 2019 at 67,410 miles at Arlington Garage in Fairford, which comprised an engine oil and filter change, a new air filter, and replacement of the starter motor.
• In August 2020, the air-conditioning was serviced and re-gassed.
• There is a large gap in the service history, but the early services have been confirmed by Stratstone as having taken place in May 2019 at 7,451 miles, May 2010 at 13,245 miles, and May 2011 at 18,678 miles. The online MOT history provides a good record of the mileage accrual between then and the present day, and provides an indication of its condition over that period.

SUMMARY

This Land Rover Defender 110 XS is a good example of the go-anywhere 4x4, which has a few subtle cosmetic modifications, but otherwise remains highly original. While the exterior is slightly weathered in places, in line with its age and mileage, this is a presentable car with a desirable factory specification, which would make a great family workhorse.
